Quote from: Wardukw on May 21, 2024, 05:43:41 PMWell this is the fastest update I've ever done ..just scored a  Trumpeter 1/35 M983A2 HEMTT Tractor w/M870A1 semi trailer ..again for a very low price 😁😁

Is that the monster Oshkosh tank transporter tug & trailer?

If so, I've got one too. Not sure if I'll EVER get round to building it though.
No Kit ..your thinking the M1070 with the M1000 trailer..ive got one and built it in 35th and had a slightly started 72nd scale one given to me .
This is much smaller ..thank christ  ;D
The M1070/M1000 combo is a big fecking model ..so many tyres  :o

It's a big fecking vehicle.  Looks like an apartment block towing a bridge.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Quote from: Old Wombat on May 10, 2024, 05:26:09 AMJust ordered (with some trepidation given my last experience - no fault of the supplier's) another expensive purchase from Hannants;

Hong Kong Models 1/48 North-American B-25J Mitchell (HKM01F008) - not sure if I'll go RW or scheme/markings-only whif.

This is at the Post Office waiting for me to collect it - much less stressful than the last order! ;D

And this lot is only a day or so behind from BNA:

1 x Eduard 1/48 B-25J Mitchell Glazed Nose Detail Set for HK Model kits (ED FE1336)
1 x FC Model Trend 1/35 M38A1 Jeep Weighted Wheels for AFV Club kit (FC-35777)
2 x Reskit 1/48 AGM-45 Shrike Missiles w/Lau-34 Launcher (2pcs) for A-4, A-7, F-4, F-105 (RS48-0451)
1 x Reskit 1/48 Centerline 650 Gal Fuel Tank w/Pylons for F-105 Thunderchief [1pc] (RSU48-0305)
1 x Reskit 1/48 Centerline MER Pylon for F-105 Thunderchief [3D Printing] (RS48-0426)
2 x Reskit 1/48 AGM-78 Standard ARM with LAU-80 Launcher (2pcs) for F-105,F-4,A-6,EA-6B (RS48-0445)
2 x Reskit 1/48 AGM-12C Bullpup B Missiles (2 pcs) for A-4/5/6/7, F-4/8/100/105, P-3, Sea Vixen (RS48-0429)

I had more stuff for the B-25 in the cart but they sold out while I prevaricated about buying them & then a shipment of Reskit stuff came in with a bucket load of weapons I'd flagged for notification

You can say THAT again!  :o

And I hate painting wheels and tyres too.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Quote from: Nick on May 19, 2024, 03:10:13 PMSpecial Hobby J-9 "Swedish Defender"
Now this caught my eye because it looked different, and I thought it was a Swedish home built 1930s design. When I got back to the club stand someone said it was an early P-47 Thunderbolt which is sort of true but it is in the family.
What the J-9 really is is a Seversky P-35, but as a result of Alexander Seversky selling the 2 seat version to Japan he got kicked out of what then became Republic Aircraft.
Sweden ordered 120 but only got 60 which were to replace the Gloster Gladiator.

Anyway I think it looks cool and worthy of an OOB finish.

I'd love to see that, and I'm happy to assist with pics and other reference materials. My dad lived just under the approach back when the RSwAF 8th Fighter Wing (F8) got these, and he always spoke fondly of them being his first real "wow"-fighter experience.

In other news, I couldn't resist relieving some poor Evilbay seller of an unassorted lot of old Humbrol enamels. As they're not sold anymore over here and I'm a grumpy old fart refusing to change system, I try to get what I can. In this lot, quite a number of old OOP hues, so I'm pretty pleased.
The same seller happened to have a lot of small RSwAF roundels as well, so I threw them in for good measure. While not strictly Lo-Vis, in a near RW or mild whif environment, they will do fine on camouflaged aircraft. (And full Lo-Vis is soooo boring!)
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Picked this lot up from the Post Office today and got them into the modelling room unnoticed! ;D  ;)

Gondor

Arrived today from eBay

1 x 1/72 Special Hobby SH 72347 Mirage F.1CR. I did buy one not so long ago and both will be real world along with the Mirage F.1 Duo pack. However, I like two of the single-seat options in the Duo pack so I got the first CR only to find that I liked one of the versions provided. So time to buy yet another. So the two options for the single-seat will be, French home-based and Ecuador. The two-seat may well be IIRAF with one of the CR's built as the home-based option from the box.

Dizzyfugu

A Hasegawa 1:72 J7W Shinden; many moons ago I was able to get hands on a (recast from the original Hasegawa extra sprue) resin conversion set to turn it into a jet-powered J7W2 - but I have plans to take the conversion a step further an (also) modify the air intakes (which would stay the same narrow slits from the air-cooled original radial pusher engine) into something that rather looks like air ducts with a different shape.

I was thinking of doing the same with a 48th scale kit to Dizz...im still thinking of what intakes would look best .

Ordered a RyeField Models 1/35 British Main Battle Tank Challenger 2 TES from BNA yesterday.

It was on a Flash Sale for $35.95 instead of $89.95, so how could I say 'No!".

Unfortunately for our Kiwi friend, they've sold out. ;)
