That's right. Got to relax properly before a good snooze. Like warming up for a marathon.

I have progress, sort of.

Modular storage units have been built and the paint one stocked. Consequently, I have moved some reference books from the hall into the model room, more than the Warpaint Books and others that are now on my computer desk.

These are the storage units that I received yesterday

I bought two of the unit type shown in the foreground, and one of the three draw 15ml paint tin storage units. The two-draw unit, which is under the paint unit, I bought at the Scottish Nationals this year. The 15ml paint tin unit will hold a maximum of 135 tins, as long as the lids are flush:banghead:

This is the two-draw unit, lots of space for odds and ends to fill up.

As I said earlier, the 15ml paint tin storage unit will hold up to 135 tins.

This is the amount of egg boxes I threw out after transferring their contents to the storage box. A BIG saving in space.

Loads more to do still so no more pictures until I have finished!

Ha! Yes, preparation is the key to a successful sleep.
And I see where he's coming from - you provided not only a box for him, but books you are going to read - where else would he sleep in/on?  ;D

I have not seen the cat since he had his nap in the spray booth, that's something that he can't do if he was here anyway as the booth is full of items moved off the desk and elsewhere until other areas of the room are tidied so the contents of the booth can move—talking about the tidying up. I have found that I have an A3 cutting mat!! For the last year or so I have been working from an area of roughly A5 in size.   Not only that, the A3 matt was a couple of inches off the table's centre line!
I am also changing the layout of the storage and lighting for the bench. Going is the magnifying daylight flexible arm that I have had for ages, I now have one, with a second on order, LED daylight lamp which not only can be adjusted in the vertical plane, the strip of LEDs can pivot around the vertical joint so I am angling the light parallel with the edge of the table with the light shining across the width of the table. The second lamp will do the same from the opposite side of the table. This will also allow me to buy more storage from EBMA to hold my Humbrol paint tins once I clean the lids so they sit fully onto the tin so the draws will shut. I may just buy new paint where available although that will not be possible with the Authentic colours that I have.
The accessories for the spray booth are coming along. I have replaced my old Revell compressor with a new machine that has a reservoir tank and moisture trap, I also bought a nice airbrush holder/cleaning station too. Just arrived today were a bottle of Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner and a bottle of Vallejo Airbrush Thinner, although I think it's just the right size to fit in my hand perfectly.  ;D

I've done something to my lower back on the left side. No idea what yet as it's another half hour before the Doctor's is open for non-appointment surgery is open. Laying in bed was ok, turning over during the night became "interesting" and putting my socks on this morning was difficult and painful. I hope I can find a parking space at the Doctor's with some space next to the driver's door as getting in and out of the car might be interesting, just not in a good way. I will update this later once I know more about it.

EDIT: Strained/pulled muscle, will take things day by day with regard to work.

Muscle pulls and strains can be quite nasty and take some time to heal completely especially as we get older, take care
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

So I am off work until Monday at the moment. Yesterday and today are due to my back, and tomorrow is due to the car going into the garage to have the front brakes looked at. So this morning I decided that I would just take the car to the garage today and get a taxi back to my local supermarket which is a couple of hundred yards away from my flat. Half an hour for the taxi to turn up! I walked which included buying a couple of items from the supermarket it took me about forty minutes in total. There were times though that I thought a nice sit down would do my back the world of good but I kept on with the thought that once I got home I could lay down or sit for as long as I wanted as the next time I need to go out will be to collect the car.
I did manage to let my nice post lady know that my car was in the garage and that I was home for a few days as I know at least one parcel is due to arrive tomorrow.

Like Chris said, give it time to heal completely so, take it easy.

I have had a couple of times where my back has played up so I do understand what needs to be done, unfortunately, real life doesn't always let you do what you want or should so I do what I can. I think the main reason that I am in so much pain at the start of the day is due to my sleeping and so no moving through the night so I have seized up as it were. Almost five minutes to put on each sock this morning, a slight improvement over yesterday.
The parcel I was waiting on today was some HATAKA Red paint for the Modern Brazilian Air Force. This shall be used on the F/A-45 that I want to finish for Telford, modifying the wings is the main thing that is holding that up. I have more paint on order, Some Humbrol paint is on its way from the BIG yellow H and this evening I ordered some Xtracolor and Tamiya paints along with a few other things such as another Airfix Lancaster as I won a Blackbird conversion kit to make a Lancastrian. Another order was also made to Rails of Sheffield for some of their railway paint, Concrete and Stone colours. This means that all the Humbrol paints I have which don't have flush lids will be replaced in one manner or another as some of the Humbrol paints are no longer available. Hopeing to finish getting the model bench tidy some time duering next week then it's the uphill task of keeping it tidy

Consider acupuncture. It really has helped me.

I sat hunched over my laptop in an odd way a few weeks ago... still feeling it, and once the morning painkillers wear off, the evening can get interesting.
When I keep mobile it isn't too bad, it's when I sit for a stretch that I stiffen up and have to start moving again carefully.
Though sleeping isn't an issue, so...?

I'd take some time off, if things hadn't gone ballistic at work... ah well, there's always later.

So yeah, I can relate and sympathize.

If the muscle problem was long-term term then I would consider that, however as this is short term, so far, it's not an option as 1) I would have to find somewhere that does that, 2) I would need an appointment in short order and 3) cost.

Work is usually quite good about things like this although they are probably starting to be suspicious about my health as I have been off quite a bit recently with one thing or another. Just bad luck though.
Monday at work is the annual PAT testing of electrical appliances. The fact that I left work on Tuesday with a unit on test will not help matters as that uses at least two items which will require testing. I have in the past performed PST testing so I am fairly knowledgeable about such things and I know where everything is plugged in in the work area.
At least I have managed the most difficult task of the day, putting my socks on

Things are improving. Under five minutes per sock putting them on this morning  ;D My back wasn't stiff this morning so much either

I had lots of fun and games yesterday as I received a power extension lead to power my new model bench lamp. I have a power strip on one side of the bench and the lamp is of course, on the other side with a power lead that will not reach around the bench. Feeding the socket of the extension lead around some of the legs of the bench when you have a bad back and are having to crawl under the bench is not fun  :banghead:  I did get it done in the end with a great deal of fortitude, I didn't swear once
Two or three times maybe
Tidying up does get interesting. I found the bodies of an underwing fuel tank for a Heller F-86 and then matched it with a bag containing the other fuel tank.
The downside is not finding something, or in this case, multiple things. This time it's the RR Eagle conversion by Freightdog along with a version given to me by Lee some years before Colin produced his. I know I have them, they are probably in a box that is not the one I expect them to be in, and I have checked all the Tempest kit boxes I have. They will show up I am sure, at some point in time.
