I saw this, too. It seems that after the forum update, spaces in image filenames are handled differently than before and unfourtunally, may of the older images had them in them. I will fix the links, but will take a while.
And it seems as if the links must be https links now, the older ones were all http links.

It should be fixed now, had to replace the "http://" in all image links to "https://".... was quite a bit of work.

A non-What If just left my shipyard, a famous "target ship"....

HMS Hood in 1/700 scale, build OOB from the Tamiya model, just added  some PE railings and crew. The command tower was a bit tricky to build, it did not fit so good as I had expected.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Kriegsmarine Tirpitz (Tamiya 1/350)

This model is a bit different than my other ones. I have not made it myself. This 1/350 Tamiya Tirpitz was build by my father in the mid 1980s, so its coming close to 40 years of age now. After he has passed away, I was looking of some room to place it, as I wanted to save it.

Whats a bit special is, this model is a RC one. This model had a "battery" option, so, engine and gearbox was included and one big rudder could be used if you wanted to run it on battery. My father converted it to use the two smaller original rudders and added all the RC electronics to it. It was a bit tricky so save the wight that the model was not too deep in the water. In the mid 80s, you only got quite heavy battery packs.

I also remember that he wanted to modify one of the cranes to be used as the power switch for the model, but this did not work. So, now you can lift the backward superstructure, the main power button located there. I wonder if the old electronics does still work, have to make a try one day. And find a place where to run it safely.

Of course, nowadays you could much more enhance such a model with all the PE parts available now, but back then, you did not had the option. And making it a RC model, it would be even more fragile as it is now. I think it only run 2 or three times on a little lake near our house back then.

That'll look very impressive on the water.

Well done, your Dad.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

One of the more rare models, a German WW1 Battleship, the Kronprinz. Scuttled in Scapa Flow in 1919, the wrecks still rests there today.

A bit more info on this ship and its history can be found on my navy website https://www.german-navy.de/hochseeflotte/ships/battleships/kronprinzwilhlem/index.html

This is the 1/700 scale model of the Kronprinz by ICM. Build OOB and painted with Revel Aqua Color. A model kit with many very small parts, so in some parts it was a bit tricky to build. Overall quality is quite good.
