That was/is an idea I had, too, even though the fins might have to be modded, too, since they reach far down and carry small "bumper wheels" to protect the original prop As a serious wartime "prop-turned-jet" design these might have to stay, together with the stalky legs, though.

And IIRC I have actually seen a reversed Shinden somewhere - maybe even her in the forum, LONG ago. I also know of a reversed F4U somewhere online that much resembles the J7W.

Got my hands on one of these today. Beer can for scale, she's huge ! The lady was only asking 15, but I gave her 25 because that seemed fair. I really just want it for the wing tanks, so I can put them under a 1/48 scale Avro Arrow.
CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Long Live the Commonwealth !!!

Where's my beer ?

A 1/32 scale Phantom? You could LIVE in of them!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

Just scored a model I'd never had and been after for decades ..yes I was lazy and could have gotten one from overseas but ..ya know 😁
What I got is a 1/35 Renwal Blueprint Scale Model Kit 8 Inch Self-Propelled Howitzer .
Yep it's crap as armour models go and it says 35th so hopefully it is cause I've got plans like replacing the tracks..road wheels and drive sprockets..most small hull details ..the .50 cal and the main gun .
The barrel clamp will most likely be scratch built or just refined .
Finally got one  ;D

Well ..sit back with a cuppa and I'll tell ya 😉
When my mate Glen got this large pile of models given to him from a deceased friend damn near 80% of em had been started.
He was one of those IE use modellers who'd start a new  build and not finish the last one..so all the models were just boxed up with this on there and that in thereunder not for the kit is was for.
Some model club got in first and brought a heap without sorting anything out..so ya got models with no plans and so on.
Glen said there was a box full of plans .
I sorted out everything he had left and he gave me F4 because it wasn't complete and I'll bet good  money those model club twats have the missing bits .
I'm hoping Tamiya will come to party when I finally get a list of what's missing.

I also came home with my 35th scale Trumpeter Mil-8/17 😀

I'm wondering what sort of a Whiff you could make with only 3/4 of an F-4..........................  ;D

Probably not a very good one 😕 😄
But if I was a psychotic then it would be perfect as,a derelict or in a bone yard stripped for parts ..you could detail the nuts out of the thing ..luckily I'm not like that 😁

My last order hasn't even arrived & I've got another on the way ( 3 items on my "Notification" list & 2 impulse buys );

1 x Tamiya Models 1/35 Dinosaur Series Diorama Set No.2 - Tyrannosaurus (TM 60102) - for the dinosaur collection
1 x Tamiya Models 1/48 De Havilland Mosquito B-Mk.IV/PR Mk.IV (TM 61066) - will be the B Mk.IV, stupidly small compared to the B-25 & B-26 but a Brit twin-engined bomber
2 x Armory Production 1/48 F-105F/G Thunderchief Wheels, Weighted [retooled set] (AR AW48364) - for my F-105 super-detail projects ... don't ask me, it just grew into an obsession :o
1 x Thunder Models 1/35 LRDG F30 Patrol Truck CMP (TDM-35304) - I had it in mind to do it as Tom Kruse's* on the Strzelecki Track, or as something in that vein = It's all your fault, Fred! ;)  ;D
1 x Abteilung 502 54mm Scale Hero Saxon Warrior 5th C [resin] (ABT1020) - I don't know, I think I've been watching too many old episodes of Time Team related to Anglo-Saxons

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Hence me watching them! ;D

However, the last bunch of eight or ten have all either been searches for, or have run into finds relating to the Anglo-Saxon period.

When I was at school we were always taught how basically unsophisticated/uncultured the Anglo-Saxons were. As the years have passed it's become pretty obvious how wrong that was and how it was all down to Norman propaganda lasting nearly a thousand years

From memory Renwall stated 1/32 on the box back in the day, but that was always an approximation.
