What I got is a 1/35 Renwal Blueprint Scale Model Kit 8 Inch Self-Propelled Howitzer .

From memory Renwall stated 1/32 on the box back in the day, but that was always an approximation.

I've got one of those, may even build it one day, SP guns have always fascinated me.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on May 29, 2024, 12:56:17 AMI'm wondering what sort of a Whiff you could make with only 3/4 of an F-4..........................  ;D

An F.3 ? Sorry couldn't resist it

Yeah, right...............................

Trying to remember what an F-3 was, and it was a McD Demon of course. And they were pretty much 3/4 of an F-4 too!  :o

Was it Renwall who did the Atomic Canon back in the day ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

They did, a veritable MONSTER of a kit it was too! I built one for a window demo model for my mate's shop in Oxford. Like all them, it had the 'invisible gluing areas' designed in to the kit, very clever.

But didn't Revell take over the whole range later on?

Revell released that in 1983 and then again as Revell/Renwall 2011

Yep it's crap as armour models go and it says 35th so hopefully it is cause I've got plans like replacing the tracks..road wheels and drive sprockets..most small hull details ..the .50 cal and the main gun .
The barrel clamp will most likely be scratch built or just refined .
Finally got one  ;D
It's definitely 1/32nd scale rather than 1/35th. I built one back in the mid-'70s. It was purchased at a hobby shop in Reno, Nevada. We were there on a "family trip" and had driven down from Longview, Washington in a 1975 International Harvester Travelette 4-door pickup (long bed, 164" WB, 392 V8, bucket seats up front). The primary purpose was to visit Harrah's automobile collection, my Dad wanted to see the Bugatti Royale.

The Travelette was basically a cross between the IHC Travelall and an IHC pickup.
Ours wasn't 4WD and it sucked in the snow.

Quote from: zenrat on May 26, 2024, 04:04:23 AMShorten the landing gear.  No need for those long stalky legs if there isn't a prop.

That was/is an idea I had, too, even though the fins might have to be modded, too, since they reach far down and carry small "bumper wheels" to protect the original prop As a serious wartime "prop-turned-jet" design these might have to stay, together with the stalky legs, though.

And IIRC I have actually seen a reversed Shinden somewhere - maybe even her in the forum, LONG ago. I also know of a reversed F4U somewhere online that much resembles the J7W.
Looking at photos of the landing gear of the Shinden, shortening it would have been very straightforward, as the oleos aren't long stroke. It looks like they took a fairly standard landing gear design and just made the strut tube longer. This is very apparent on the nose gear.

That's almost a 14' wheelbase.  Must have been fun to park.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Excellent haul, Chaos!

I have the same Revell-Monogram B-25J in my stash (mine looks to be the 1999 Revell boxing) which, given my recent purchase of the HK 1/48 B-25J, is likely to end up as a "B-27K", which is a later version of my 1/72 scale B-27A;
