Quote from: Gondor on May 08, 2024, 05:47:02 AMThe only part of the B-32 that was similar to the B-24 was the wing. That is not enough for a model making company to reduce the cost of new molds. Tis is even more true when you take into account how few of the B-32's were made, only 118 were made compared to the roughly eighteen and a half thousand B-24's.

Gondor
Only similar in terms of aerodynamic profile, both being examples of the "Davis Wing", they are not dimensionally similar.
Thanks for the information another build added to the list. I wonder if a kitbash might be easier and cheaper than the Anigrand model.

Contrail and Aviation USK both have done models of the B-32, both vac-forms I think.

Gondor
Yes they have, I just have to wait until I have the funds to buy one ,hence the kitbash option.

Heads up - Double Hobby Reward points on any in-stock purchases through the Airfix website (and all Hornby websites I think) from now until midnight on May 27th.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I'm really tempted by the Bulldog, but it will need the rigging doing in order to do it justice and I don't think I'm up to it  :-\

That just reminded me Chris..ive got a Bulldog in 48th ..one I got given to me from my mate who's uncle passed away...it's already built...no idea on the manufacturer buts white ...like that helps   ;D

New Bulldog is the wrong scale.  But never fear for I have a bagged example of the 1969 mould 1/72 version.
It needs spats IMO.

Could be Inpact or Merit, the former being newer and more finely detailed, but the Merit ones were good too.

The Inpact kit was later re-popped by Life Like, Pyro and Lindberg, but without the rigging lines originally included by Inpact.

You may ask why a dedicated NON-biplane modeller like me knows this, but I built a demo one for my mates model shop in the early 70s.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks ya muchly Kit  ;D
For some reason I think it's possibly Lindberg..just working on the idea about kits which can be gotten here..Lindberg can be brought here still but this was brought a long time ago so ya just never know for sure .
As you can guess..zero rigging..so some fun to be had there 😉 😄
Tell ya one thing..old Uncle Arthur sure had a lot of Frog kits..many brand new to.

I tried one of those sets once, admitedly in 1/72, and I'm still seeing the specialist

i have a couple of them.  One for the Airfix Be2c and one for something else I forget.  Not tried either yet.
Can't be harder than elastic thread though can they?

Put simply ? Yes they are in my view, simply handling long thin straight pieces of brass is a PIA  :banghead:

Get a trained spider, which is why Kit doesn't do biplanes.
