Will do

Must admit, first job when I start any new project is to dip the clear parts in my "Future tub" so they've plenty of time to dry.

Ah, but I like to glue the clear parts into the fuselage halves with Tamiya Extra Thin glue.  I used to use Krystal Klear but had too many push into the closed fuselage.  A good chemical bond is better IMO and I won't get that if there is a layer of Future there.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It IS isn't it.  Makes all the effort weathering in the OD worthwhile.  Sometimes I surprise myself.
I could have finished it if I hadn't done that but i'm glad I did it.

And then you'd have had a model you were mostly happy with, but was 'missing that certain something... but it was finished for the GB!...'
So I think you made the right decision, even if it wasn't done quite in time.

Gondor

These things start to take a life of their own. They grow arms and legs and develop in ways you never think of when you start them which invariably ends up with them taking longer than you expect or want.

I've cut corners in the past to meet a deadline and you're right, I was only mostly happy.

Another coat of Future on the clear parts today and I removed the masking from the ball turret.  Thankfully no crazing on that.
I also painted the tyres and cleared the insides of the cowlings.  So the engines can go together tomorrow.

Looks almost standard in that last pic.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I've had this project in the back of my head for ages. I'm so glad someone has done it, as it saves me the job, lol.  Looks brilliant!!

Probably the point - it's only when they look underneath that the 'Gotcha!' moment occurs.
