Lets see if I can get this thrown together in a week.  A commingling of two boxes of parts inspired by a profile someone here posted years ago which I thought I had saved but which now can't find.
Basically an Eagle with Phantom wings.

Starting positions.

The Phantom dates from the days before Hasegawa stopped putting in the weapons sprues and has a full load out.

And where I got to today after a frenzy of gluing.

No idea who the end user will be or what scheme it will be in.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

This then, of course, gives you the opportunity to double-down with a Phantom with Eagle wings.

I sort of already have.  My SuperJag for the BHJ GB had the Eagle wings mounted on most of the Phantom fuselage.

Sort of. ;)

What you need to do is low-mount the Eagle wings on the full Phantom fuselage, as you seem to be mid-mounting the Phantom wings on the full Eagle fuselage.

Phantom wings will be going where the Eagle wings were - high mounted.
I do have another sacrificial Phantom (Italeri) but not an Eagle.  Tell you what, if I see a suitably cheap Hasegawa Eagle at the Expo Swamp and Smell tomorrow i'll buy it for just this purpose...

Did no work to this today due to chores rearing their ugly head.  Will do no work on it tomorrow due to going to Model Expo all day.
However, I am on leave next week and have planned a paint scheme consisting of primer with gloss clear over the top.

Having said that I did just find a spare 20 minutes to pop out to the shed to glue the flying surfaces on.
Brought it indoors so as to give the glue setting time in the warm before PSR begins.  The wing fit was a particularly easy one.  Possibly because they are both McDonnell Douglas products and both modelled by Hasegawa.  Note even the styrene colours match.

Got lovely lines   and a somewhat Soviet look ? A more elegant Foxbat ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hmmmmm, Soviet.  It would need wing fences...

Filler slappage has been undertaken.

Looking good! Even those downward tilted horizontal stabs. It will need that Phantom hook that looks like it's from a tub boat on the underside to give it that Navy look. Loving this!

Those wings work well - is it my eyes, or are they about the same size as the originals?

Chord measurement at the root is almost the same.

Sanded and primed today.

Too small to be Soviet, though. ;)
