There is a print called "The Gunfighters" it has the 366 TFW's commanders Col. Watson's F4 nicknamed "The Saint" s/n: 66-8775 in the foreground, then in the background there is Col. Blesse's F4 with the personalized tail code BB and a s/n: 67-696 (?).  I cannot make out its nickname - I think something dragon.

I am thinking making these 2 will be my next project but in all my books and websites I'm not able to find anything on Blesse's F4.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

With a little clever web search you could have easily found this out yourself.  :-\

But, as a service, the tag is/was "The Blue Max"

Interesting that unit's called 'The Gunfighters' and yet their F-4Cs don't have guns.......................

Did they all carry the SUU-23A pod as standard?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks for the reply, but the F4 of your picture is a different tail number than the one I referencing.

Initially they placed a SUU-16 and then upgraded to the beefier SUU-23.  The F4E was when they installed internal guns.

Welcome 566.
There's a thread somewhere you can tell was about yourself.  Someone will put a link up here to it if you're lucky.

So mate, how are you going to Whiff your two Phantoms?  You do know this is the What If Modellers don't you?  You can't just build them real life.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

First of all, you reference an illustration and not a "real" picture - and my profile is not any better. But markings (or their respective executions) change in frontline units over time, so truth is always very relative. And if that Phantom is a personal mount you can be certain that the nose art tag remained, whatever else changed.
