So the last building used by ILM to create models for Star Wars in the 1970s closed recently and Adam got hold of some of the racking and supplies and used it to transform his workshop.

Here's the video. Have a stab at estimating the cost of buying all those supplies today, at retail prices, if you want to be depressed/envious...

Adam Savage and Fon Davies Build a Homeworld 3 Spaceship - the Homeworld 3 game is out now.

Adam Savage Designs His Dream Star Wars-Inspired Droid.

This is a promotion for a competition organized by Lucasfilm and the CAD software company to promote the new Acolyte series.
It's really interesting to see how you can design your own model kit in just a few days (with lots of experience, of course).

So when does that droid come out as a kit by Bandai?

So for this year's Wonderfest show, somebody organized a competition to take the Star Trek Galileo shuttlecraft model and what-if it.
The results are excellent, and highly amusing:

That group build looks great. Lots of good ideas very well done. The Gulf Race car thing looked smart and I would never have thought of Dumb and Dumber for this!
Spaceballs Winnebago was the best.

Shame the video had an ad every 2 minutes, made it hard to watch.

Wouldn't know: I have an ad-blocker.

I put off getting one for years, but when they doubled the ads in 2020, that was the last straw.

Seriously, the dude's a "science fiction" modeller and he was unsure about the
X-15?
:o

My Ad blocker doesn't block the ads in the videos.  So I just don't watch the videos.
Their loss.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I was thinking the same when I watched the vid.

Good models thou.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Another one from the same show: this time two scratchbuilt/kitbashed original spaceships:

As well as the bits they identified in the video, I can also see a Saturn V second stage (aft of the nose cone), and 1/48th(?) WWII US pattern bomb halves around the tail end (both on the big one).

The tail-sitter VTOL thing is what I'd consider more appropriate for the Moon-based interceptors in UFO.
