That's it folks the end of the workbook course work which incorporated how to deal with terrorist threats, suspicious items, alcohol and drugs for personal consumption and general security issues.
The class has the day off tomorrow to submit their work, if it's not completed then they will forfeit the course and have to apply for the same one which starts in August.  I feel knackered having burnt the midnight oil on Monday as the deadline was supposed to be today.
I start the first aid modules on Thursday.
There seems to be a hive of activity on this forum, can't wait for July to get some supplies and get back to normal starting in August.

Keep going with the course mate  Be worth it in the end

I completed the practical part of Emergency First Aid at Work, the multiple choice test is tomorrow. Next week we start the how to escort customers off the premises and self defence.
Not much has changed on the one day First Aid training, they have taken away the scissors from the first aid boxes as you could hurt yourself. This doesn't mean that you can't use them in the home or in your car just not at work.
We are in the month of June and its supposed to be the British Summer, feeling a bit chilly  starting to wear my dressing gown around my flat
The Cut,  I didn't know that it was so close to where I used to work on the Southbank, it's got some very interesting shops, I might have a browse over the weekend when I have finished the course.
 As to my 00/ho model railway layout, I've changed it back to the places that I have lived in sort of tribute. The Hogwarts Castle Hotel complex will get it's own separate layout either N or TT

I've passed the Emergency First Aid at Work examination today, the Internet went down and they were delays with logging in, downloading the exam and then logging in again with the recommended password.
There's quite a lot of reading to do and video recordings of the answers is part of the next module. I suppose the licensing people have to see for themselves if the students are taking the information in and recall it when necessary.
In the foyer of the college they were setting up an art exhibition which has given me a few ideas of how to decorate my flat, my allowance went up and now I know why, the council wants it back so instead of paying them directly I've got to pay them. Things will get sorted out in the end.
 More whiffing ideas, definitely buying a sketchpad next month. There's a few vacform kits that have been reduced, keep lowering the price and I can afford them! A vacform kitbash.

I'm in student mode,  I know that I should be asleep as its the weekend. 2am this morning and I can't get back to sleep, so it will be a weekend of watching Door Supervisor Licence videos on YouTube.
The class has been split into two groups and two-thirds of the original students have dropped out or asked to come back after the summer holidays in September, I mean it's not difficult just common sense for most of the time with a bit of technical information thrown in. Sort of need to know for security reasons.
Falmouth has started the Sea Shannty Season, any excuse for a get-together. So best not to take a car as parking is a nightmare once the harbour carpark gets full. If you like your ice cream don't go to the parlour in the highstreet, the one by the public toilets where they sell tickets for the boat trips seems to me tastes much better with a Cornish pastie. So that's next year's holiday sorted out.

Brings back some memories.

Just thought of an idea it's a kitbash using the 1/72 Boeing V-22 Osprey and a MH-53 Super Sea Stallion (the three engined one).
If I use the engines , rotors and tail from the helicopter and add them to the fuselage of the
 V-22 it might resemble the MH-53K King Stallion.

Week three of the Door Supervisor Licence course, conflict management. Today was the bag search and body search recorded on video camera. Naturally I went first, the last time I undertook a body search was when I was working at Stansted Airport back in 1988, I was required by the BBC at their sites in London to carry out bag searches, so that came naturally to me. The phonetic alphabet is another natural thing having spent 11 years in the Royal Auxiliary Air Force, so if I can't get this right I shouldn't be on the course, I have been coaching the class and correcting their mistakes, still a bit nervous being in front of a camera. The final test is next week, as there's 36 of us the Licence Authority has made an allowance to extend the exam for the following Monday. So the first set of students takes the test in the morning,  the next set in the afternoon and the final set on the Monday.
Then the long wait for the Licence to arrive, September!
Now that I know what's required and what I have achieved so far the return to work shouldn't be too difficult.

Well done mate    As for nervousness prior to an exam, it's not a bad thing and only natural. Complacency is your enemy.

The emergency first aid at work course was put into operation when a student suddenly became ill. I wanted to call for an ambulance straight away my diagnostic suggested that the student was suffering from angina but I was overruled by the tutor who wanted to observe the student, who was sent home on his own only to be omitted to hospital and once checked over by a doctor was found to be suffering from angina. The phrase I told you so, seemed inappropriate when the student's message on the group WhatsApp was sent as an update, it's just I've seen the symptoms before on someone else.
The class continues with the theory and practical conflict management, in the final week it's self defence, detaining the customer and removal, mock exams and then the final exams on Friday plus the following Monday.
The class reminds me of the characters from 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ', Doc has been struck off, replaced by Stroppy.
One thing that I have noticed is that I'm now getting a full night's sleep from attending the course. I have looked into the possibility of doing one of the SIA Licence Instructors Course, it's a bit pricy I'm not too sure if the Universal Credit/Department of Work and Pensions would fund it but as I have the confidence that I could be a good teacher.

Been there, mind you I was usualy Stroppy or more likely Sarcastic

I spent most of the day going through mock exams using the app Guardpass, only to receive a phone call from one of my fellow students to also go through questions on several mock exams, it was almost midnight when the phone call ended. Naturally I couldn't get any sleep, although my head was aching and tiredness overcame me.
I came to the conclusion that I have to get my builds finished first before starting something new. My mother thinks that I can take the completed models to a charity shop but I have tried to explain to her that my models don't look anything like the pictures on the box that they came with. EBay or other auction sites, swap meets or Facebook Market Place.
Knowing me like you all do, some will be recycled for parts whilst others will be displayed around my flat.
I'm looking forward to returning to work, 'there are no problems, just solutions ready to be implemented '.

Well that's it, I got sent home early. Only the exam to do on Friday 5th July,  feeling very tired although I must say over the last four weeks my sleeping pattern has improved. Been doing a lot of doodling during the free time at college and working on several layouts for future whiffing projects. 29°C yesterday and I think that I got sunburnt on the back of my neck, so I have been using the cups of water poured over my head to prevent sun stroke. This really helps, so there's a bit of a shock when the first cup is poured but I've got used to it.
I think that I have lost a bit of weight during the course, tracksuit bottoms feeling a bit baggy around the waist. Got the end of the course party tomorrow afternoon after the first group has finished their exams, just limited to the amount of computers available for the whole class which is why they split us in two.
There's also a careers fair in the Elephant and Castle University next week for the students who have finished their exams. Got a free tote bag. Been trying to have a snooze. Polling day next week, I've opted for the postal vote which has been cast. More propaganda coming through my letter box although I have noticed that the blame game has started on the TV debates.
The banknotes have started to change, I had to take a double look at the new ones. I did consider the Boris Bus 🚌 would make a great mobile home conversion. Might have to raise the roof on the upper deck but at least you've got air conditioning!
Primer, papers and decals, I think a search in the incomplete or broken section should provide me with enough parts for the GB build.
