Underside is painted.
I went for Vallejo Light Sea Grey which is more of a blue than a grey IMO.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I also found this marvellously weathered Brazilian example.

Progress today consisted of painting white over areas i'd previously primer with white.  And inside the intakes.
So nothing that will show up on a photo.

It looks like they only applied the first coat and then put her straight out onto the flight line...  ;D

Maybe they have a Unit Weathering Section whose job it is to ensure they all don't look TOO new?

First coat of all three top colours went on today.  Ocean Grey, Middle Stone, and Khaki Green.  I'm not happy with it but it can, and will be adjusted.  After all, its not like i'm on a deadline with this one.

They've been taking lessons from the Danes, then...  ;D

Yeah.  Nasty isn't it.

So, plan B involves over painting the Ocean Grey snail tracks (I was thinking of it as a river, but snail tracks is a better description) with a couple of RLM shades.

Yeah sorry about that comment, it was a bit stark even though that was exactly what it reminded me of. The repaint of the "swirls" looks much better as the grey was too large of a contrast with the other colours. That green on the dark brown looks nice   and the swirl in more muted colours does break up the original brown & sand scheme nicely.
