I wonder how many of us have said that over our time ?

I bet almost everyone of us. This time though I intend to do so as keeping track of all the bits was getting difficult. As it is I have at least half a dozen ejector seats that I have no idea where they came from, and all have never been used either.

I seem to have diverted my attention to the Antipodies recently, buying both paint and decals for the RAAF during WWII. Well, now I have just bought a book on the subject but am scratching my head for subject matter to whiff. I am toying with the idea of doing an N.A. Mitchel Mk.II as RAAF but maybe that's too large?

Too large for what? It's a handy sized aeroplane to my mind.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I'd suggest a Mosquito but Australian built FB6 equivalent aircraft can't be done OOB, you need to modify the outboard exhaust ports to take six stacks and fit the tropical filters.  If you go for one of the ex-RAF ones that the RAAF used, you can use the flame dampers to hide the stack issue but you still need the tropical filters.

Richard Franks says the cowlings are longer but that's just a load of monkey jizz.  No single stage mosquito cowling was lengthened.

Their PR16s are a good bet, as they are straight from the box.

The T bird options are an even more interesting can of worms, but the available conversion kits are both wrong.  I did my own.

The David Vincent Mosquito Monograph is the reference work to have re RAAF Mosquitoes.  A good chapter on 618 Sqn with several valuable photos.

Unexpectedly off work today due to rather expensive-sounding noises coming from the front right of the car. So I phoned work to say that I needed the day off and took the car to the garage that just over a month ago fitted new brakes and brake discs to the front of the car, just in case it was something related to that work. The problem is more likely to be the front right coil spring though  :-\

As I was passing my neighbours on the way home, Spot, my cat, was waiting so he came home with me. Nice to see my furry little friend now and again. Shortly after we got in he was expecting me to wait on him hand and foot, foot, foot.

I have received the news from the garage, broken spring so the total is estimated to be just under £260. The car will not be ready until either Thursday or Friday and I have arranged to borrow my mother's car from my sister so I can get to and from work without using public transport which as I am not in Edinburgh or Glasgow is (select the cuss word of your choice), especially as I am travelling cross country.

I had a surprise phone call this afternoon at work. My car was ready for collection! That was quick I thought as I had been told on Tuesday that it would probably be either Thursday or Friday! No complaint at all!
I have recently ordered a new computer chair, this one is starting to fall to bits. All due to the design really as I am sure the fixing points for the arms are not fitted to a frame, just the back and the base which means that in time they become loose. Well the company I ordered the chair from decided to upgrade the delivery and their courier attempted to deliver the chair today, when I am at work rather than the Friday or Saturday that I was previously expecting with the initial order. All good intentions and all that, perhaps they should check that what they were planning suited the customer? Probably expecting too much. Anyway, to add delivery details and to change the delivery day, no option for preferred time of day, I had to download their App and use that   What's wrong with their web site?
Anyway, as I am off work on Monday I managed to change the delivery day to then.

Yeah, likely.
And when they've changed everything at their place of employment to suit themselves, they bu88er off somewhere else, and do it all over again.  :banghead:

I found my older laptop useful today. This machine has a CD/DVD player built in and a LAN port. One of my colleagues at work has a nice newish BMW i3 but the maps were out of date. Rather than pay lots for BMW to update them he found and paid much less but needed to install them himself.
To install the maps he needed to install some software into his car. He bought the correct cable which has on the car end a connector that looks a bit like a SCART plug with the other end an RJ45 or LAM plug. We spent a bit of time after work today getting my laptop to start to begin with, then getting connected to the works guest WI-FI which partly involved moving his car to a parking spot that got a better WI-FI connection. We had to run the program I had installed on my laptop last weekend to coordinate the software connection but we got there. I can only assume that everything went ok as I have not had any communication from him to say otherwise. I think I will look up how to connect to a LAN with my newer laptop, just to be on the safe side.

Beaufort.  High Planes Models at https://hpmhobbies.com/aircraft-2/ have conversion sets for the 1/72 Airfix.  DAP built aircraft were powered by Twin Wasps, amongst other differences.
I have a couple of these conversion sets.  Not built one yet but they look well made.

So I managed to get the last two sections of modular storage that I wanted from EBMA recently. I have spent most of the afternoon putting them together with the aid of a file, to open a couple of holes for small magnets, these help each section stay together without any fancy connectors or screws. I did find one slight issue which I have messaged the company with and considering that I have bought twelve items from them, each with multiple parts and only had one mistake I am quite pleased.
So here is all its hidden glory is my modelling bench and paint stash

The three draw units have enamel paints in them, all divided into manufacturers, so that covers Humbrol, Xtracolour, Revell, Colourcoats and Humbrol Authentic.

The bottom left two-draw unit is just that, a two-draw unit for bits and pieces while the other one has Tamiya and Life colour paints. The 1/3 - 2/3 unit has Railmatch in the bottom section and is empty in the top section. I might see if I can get a spare empty drawer of that size and use it for general storage for now.
I'm a very happy camper with all the storage. I had bought four units that were designed as open storage as I knew that I would never be able to keep the bench tidy enough to pull open the bottom drawers. This way I get the full depth of the bench and the use of all the drawers.

The trick is to keep it that way  ;)  ;D
