Your comments re the Orthodox baptism are interesting. Both of my mates daughters married Greeks (yes they did meet them on hols) and I've been to a couple of Orthodox celebrations, both here in the UK and in Greece. They certainly make most of the Church of England ones I've been to seem a tad tame

We are all exceedingly grateful that this is the case!

Having relocated to our archipelagean cottage for the weekend, i on purpose only brought some SAAB's, thereby hoping to, if not entirely quell, at least dampen this Hellenic desire a bit. We shall se about that as I actually haven't gotten round to do any modelling at all, but I will accept the odd point for intentions. 
As the weather isn't really suitable for any outdoor activities, there's still hope, however.

I actually got to complete a full touch-up session of the camouflage around the unpainted leading edges of three Lansens and one Draken. Next step: going back with the matt aluminium again. Next after that: most likely back to square one. I tend to need a few cycles before things shape up..

Finally at the cottage, and this time, we're staying for a bit! 
As this week has been progressing, the need to relocate has increased as the energy levels have been fading, and now, I'm more or less flat in the sofa together with the dog, just lazily glancing across the room at the small but yet over optimistically tall stack of kits I brought in the faint hope of actually getting some hobby time in.

Somewhat annoyingly, I totally failed at staying with the previous, Scandinavian theme (hello Danish fighterbombers) I was working on last time I had a bit of mojo, instead succumbing to the holiday influenced Hellenic vibe caught a few weeks ago. Accordingly, my latest purchase, the Mirage F1CG is here together with an old Mirage 2000C and an even older T-2E Buckeye, all of them conveniently coming with HAF decals, but annoyingly not the Esci Phantom I was looking to convert into an F-4E AUP. Generally, I'd say that I have reasonably good order in my stash, but somehow, this kit has managed to go AWOL and thus escaping this trip. Also, sitting here plucking with the Matchbox Buckeye sprues, it just dawned on me that I have an old Heller A-7H in the stash that would have been nice to bring, but that eluded me when packing for the trip.

Added to this, I brought the four SAABs I fiddled with last time here, hoping to maybe even completing them, and also, there's a pair of Viggens in the stack to accompany the example brought by young Mr P. As we found out when building Tunnans together, it's good fun building the same kit.

Well - the main question now is whether there will be any modelling time at all in between wooden deck construction and all family activity ideas bound to surface during these three holiday weeks ahead. And where I start.

Three weeks, nice!

A rather rainy day indeed (about an inch, they say) but that gave me an excuse to block the table with modelling gear. Mixed blessings, however, as I soon found that one of the paints I was going to use for some Mirage interiors had managed to dry up. Quite annoying indeed!
Digging through the gear I did bring, I also found out that I'd left the putty behind. Well - that's cause enough for a retrieval trip any day soon. But most likely not tomorrow.
And to not let the failure prevail, I cheated a bit with something vaguely similar and got those interiors painted nevertheless, so not an entirely wasted effort after all.

I'm not too sure about that old Italeri M2000, though, so maybe it's good it'll get "tuned" a little bit. Building an accurate Hellenic M2000C from it would have been a challenge. On the other hand - I build for fun. Not necessarily accuracy, so..

We also got around to prepare the last big section for wooden decking before the downpour got started, so if we feel enough motivation, we can get on with the structure construction. Or not. After all, there's no big stress.
