Trying to go to this show is starting to become an uphill battle.  :banghead:
I couldn't renew my old IPMS membership which was 8 years old. So I had to rejoin as a new member all over again. Thankfully, I was allowed to keep my old IPMS number. :)
But I can't pre-register for the convention for at least another week and a half yet till I get paid. By the time I eventually do register, the majority of "goodies" (Tshirts, Pins, etc.) will be sold out and the majority of seminars will be completely booked solid.  :banghead:
And I still haven't figured out yet what models I want to take and whether I'll enter any for competition or just for display.
Decisions, decisions.  :banghead:
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

List of Seminars, Tours, and Vendors can be found here:

Though the lists will change as more are added, canceled, etc.

I doubt they will run out of T-shirts.  They have a company printing them and I think they will even be at the show.  Pins also should be good thought the challenge coin might sell out.

Most of the seminars are free and they usually will fit more people in then seats if needed.  Now the ones that cost money might sell out but there were still plenty of spots left after the weekend rush.

Glad Marie was able to help you keep your old IPMS number.  She usually can do that if you know it.  You probably got the new Wild Apricot long # as well.  Part of using that system.

If you have questions feel free to reach out to me.  I am the President afterall and while I don't work with the convention directly I do work with all that do.

No, I didn't get the new Wild Apricot long #.
I'm still using my old 5-digit number from long ago that I still wanted to keep when I rejoined.

At the time of the writing of this post, there's just a little over 48 days to go till the IPMS Nats!
GET THOSE MODELS DONE IF YOU PLAN TO ENTER THE COMPETITION!  ;D
I just finished registering for the Nats today.
If I'm not too mistaken, I think early online registration closes on June 15th.

Model registration for the IPMS/USA Nationals opened up about a week ago.

Link for the site where you go to ACTUALLY register your models:
https://gomodels.net/
REMINDER: You must be a current (not expired) IPMS member and you must be registered to attend the Nationals in order to enter the model competition.
I've already selected my models I'm entering for competition (But I won't say which ones. ;) ) and finished my model registration.
But trying to figure out what categories they should go into was damn near difficult.  :banghead:
Anyway, hope to see plenty of other what if models from other people there. ;)

Looking forward to seeing you and any other Whiffers who make it.

We are having a Meet the Board social on Wednesday night, 6-8.  If you haven't seen me before then stop in and say hi.

For some reason my schedule looks fairly busy but I will be wandering the model room and vendors area as well as judging Friday night.

Safe travels.

I'll try to make it Weds. night if I can.
Quick question if you might know: When is the best time for people to pack/pick up their models? Saturday night after the awards or Sunday morning? Or some other time?

Almost 2 hours to go till the IPMS/USA Nationals start in Madison today. I can hardly wait!  ;D
I'll be heading there with a friend and arriving sometime this afternoon.
We'll be staying at a hotel for the entire (All 4 days) convention.
As far as the vendor area goes, I'm gonna try NOT to buy any model kits. (Yeah, right. Good luck on that.  ;D  )
What I really need instead is accessories like photoetch, decals, and other 3D/resin aftermarket parts as I really want to get back to work and finish my USS United States aircraft carrier.
And I'll also be taking four models for competition. Though I highly doubt any of them will win anything.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

By the time you arrive, it'll be too late. The vendor area will be completely empty.     LOL!

Does anyone know when they shut down the display room for judging? I've been looking but I can't find out.

The only schedule information I've seen is the screenshot picture below. I'm thinking that judging of models will mostly take place on Friday after 5pm and Saturday after 4pm.
