You know, I hadn't noticed that.
It is an Academy mould.  Obviously powered by the V14 Packard Merlinin.
PSR began today.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The extra exhaust stubs came from the ones they didn't use on early Mossies of course...........................  ;D

Yes, those are the ones.

But the subcontractors who made the exhausts mis-read the order and STILL made them 12 stub ones, so RR had to saw off the extra stubs leaving them handy for the V14s later on.

PSR.
Lots of filler on the wings where Mustang meets Intruder.  Sanded a bit, assessed and then added more filler.

More sanding, more primer, more filler, more sanding...

TBH i've been focussing more on the Vampire which is why i still haven't got these wings finished.  They are not even attached to the fuselage yet.
The reason they are proving such a chore is the merges between the different cross sections of the different wings.  This sort of thing is much easier if you put in a wing fence to hide the change.
However, I think i'm close.  I may be able to scribe in some ailerons and flaps tomorrow.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

zenrat

No scribing.  More primer.

#39
Flaps and Ailerons are scribed.
Some minor filler work required to repair damage caused by dymo tape (used as scribing guide) stickyness ripping a lump of filler out of the wing surface.
 :banghead:
Then I think I can finally attach the wings to the fuse.

Someone told me once that if you have tape that is too sticky to pull off a length and touch the sticky side to areas of your face. The skin oils will tone down the stickiness. It does work. Not sure what the skin oils will do to some of todays paints.

The forehead in particular.

The annoying thing is that when used as intended Dymo tape often has problems sticking to the thing you are labelling.
