Loong ago I had started to build a BV-141 L:

but then I had used the part-built model for the BV-282:
https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=49628.msg935381#msg935381

Now I am starting again, with a "new" kit, in order to build at last a BV-141 L.

A problem will be trying to remember how I had cut and reassembled the wings.
AND, I will modify the cockpit, NO greenhouse, something more streamlined, maybe for a racer...
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Starting to assemble the main sub-assemblies for the BV 141, I realized that it could also offer possibilities as a raid/long-distance-record plane.
You cannot view this attachment.
But this would not be a Tophesque solution.
So, apart from changing the nacelle/fuselage position, I thought I could - slightly - modify the nacelle for a racer.
An entry for the Pan-European Free-for-All Pylon Championship, where the asymmetric structure would undeniably offer many advantages.
The nacelle was studied according to the theories of the famous austro-hungarian aerodynamicist Otto von Krapfen, who favoured a beaver-tail  tail.

But the construction was for the moment stalled by a controversy with some of the younger engineers that expounded the advantages of a shovel-nose form.
You cannot view this attachment.
While the debate goes on,  work is advancing on removing all rivets, an obvious necessity for a racer.

p.s.: I tried for the first time the "click or drag" system for attaching photos, instead of postimages, but it leaves a lot of space between photos, or between photo and text, even if I had not left any space.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Modifying that cockpit nacelle is fun, isn't it? (For certain highly specialized uses of the word 'fun'...) ;)

That's kinda like what I've done with the Shinden..yours is just alot more work  but still very doable  ;D
This will be very unique and I like that 😀

The engineers of the "new school" won the controversy with Otto von Krapfen 's followers, as they could demonstrate that their solution had a better obstreperousness factor expressed in Tophe units Th, as defined by the formula:
1 − 4λ2a2 sin4 ( hk2)(1 − λ2a2) (a(cj+1 + cj ) − λa2(cj+1 − cj ))/∂tu(x, t) + a(u)∂xu(x, t) = Th

so the shape the BV 141 L is taking is this:

Can you show your working please... ;)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

PR19_Kit

Is that in Metric or Imperial units?   ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Given the late, great Tophe's nationality  I would assume it's a metric measurement.  To convert to Imperial equivalent, multiply by approximately 9. 5954395  and subtract from your answer 17 (or any other two digit  prime number of your choice.)

Exactly ! ;)
