you do the research, then get the " closest " you can spend a massive amount of time converting and altering, and then BINGO some one releases the entire range, ( bar that one, slightly odd unit you thought was good)

Summed up perfectly

Too right!

I once spent ages scratching up a ramjet ASMP missile to hang under a Mirage IV, and the WEEK after I'd finished it Heller put out their Mirage 2000N, complete with an ASMP hung under its centre section! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Or the "Buy a resin conversion, or full kit, and one will be released in styrene..." Commando A/c in that instance...

Well I've made a little progress over the last few weeks, not much as life's been a tad busy, mostly with enjoyable things, so I can't moan   It's due to get even busier over the next few weeks what with Test Match cricket and the "100" and yes I have some tickets, plus there's the Olympics to watch in Paris   Still it's better than the alternative

The He 162 is now basically together, but will require a fair bit of psr. It's an odd kit, very chalk and cheese, but then KP/AZ's kits fall into this category as a whole, your'e never actually sure what they are going to build like. Still given the amount they produce you can't complain, or I won't at least  ;)

The Airfix Me 410 has seen some progress and this is as good a kit as any of Airfix's recent new tools, really up there with the very best manufacturers.

I've also made some progress on a couple of "Real World" projects. 2 1/72 Eduard Me 109's and an Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk I early. Gorgeous kits.

Bit of a cock up with the Airfix 410 yesterday, but it was all my own fault. Started to see progress and got slightly over excited and pushed myself beyond the 90 minute max spell I can spend at the bench nowadays. Go beyond that and my current medical conditions start to kick in. I can keep them at bay for that period or so by concentrating hard, but beyond that tiredness starts to make it'self felt and I start to lose concentration, plus the "shakes" makes it'self more evident.

Walked away eventually very angry with myself, but when I returned, after the Olympics' cycling time trials  ;D , I realised that I could retrieve the situation, with some brute force and putty   So all is not lost.

Thinking of putting a sign on the wall above the bench and in front of me saying ; "MAXIMUM TIME AT BENCH PER SESSION 90 MINUTES. THEN WALK AWAY FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 HOURS" .

Live and learn I suppose

Mount a timer under the sign?  ;)

Good thing the 410 was salvageable. That's not always the case, and that in turn is when I get really annoyed with myself!

If that's what you have to do, that's what you have to do, Chris, otherwise you can't enjoy the hobby as you should.

Glad you were able to save the day!

Exactly.  Good to know you have a coping method, Chris (apologies mate, can't think of a better way of describing it), equally good that you get so utterly absorbed in modelling but yes, as you indicate, you need to protect yourself and a reminder sounds a sensible way to go.  Maybe set the time on your phone to go off at 1 hour 20 mins to give you enough time to stop what you're doing at the time.

All very good ideas - you don't want to end up trashing more than you finish.

I doubt anyone but Planet are likely to do a Ju 390.

Only problem with that is that when I'm engossed in something and my phone goes off I nearly jump out of my skin. Don't fancy doing that with a new No 11 blade in the scalpel  ;)

No, all sensible idea gents, thank you

No progress yesterday, Sunday, nor today as I just need to wind down. Nothing scheduled for tomorrow so far, so maybe some psr on the balcony ? Anyway I think I've learnt my lesson.

True - there are exceptions.  ;)

Got back to the bench this morning and the correct protocols were followed  ;D  Might even get a short session in later this afternoon.
