Here's a couple of pics to show off the latest. An antenna mount and two M60 mounts.



I made this one by filing a groove in the end of the tube and gluing to the upright. Way too fiddly!



The two pour system worked better but not perfect. It will do the job.



I'm thinking of a twin .50 set up like this from Live Resin. I'll scratch it myself. Probably $50 for the set.



And some small gun shields. I found a small V shaped shield from something German in the junk box. I may copy that. No resin required! I will need some wire cutters.

TBH, if you're using those ancient Tamiya M60s, then I wouldn't waste money on resin parts — whether cast or 3D-printed

They could be Tamiya, it's been a long time in the spares box!

Ken those are old as hell M60s for sure ..either Tamiya or Academy but old 😆
Good news on those Live Resin bits and bobs...mate they are surprisingly cheap..ive got many LR weapons sets including those twin 50s and even with the gunner included it's a $30 nz set..so even less for you and I brought mine without the gunner ..cheaper again 
You could afford to upgrade all your weapons for this for smeg all as LRs weapons sets contain at  minimum 4 weapons  be it M4 to 50cals and very cheap considering the quality 😉
Even their bigger sets like Miniguns ain't that expensive at all and yep..got a few sets if those too

Thanks for the tip! I may take advantage of that one of these days. I'm going to stick with the spares box, in keeping with the junkyard dog spirit of this build. The LR images look very good so it's a strong possibility in the future.
On a different question. Did the M60 ever have an ammo can attached or was it always belt feed? I may have to find a C ration can and attach it to the side.

There is a mount the M60 used for vehicles like used on the M113 which was pretty much standard but as time progressed mounts were used which held the ammo can in a frame where you just dropped the ammo can into after removing the lid of the can ..then feed the ammo straight into the gun from there...ive also seen Jerry cans with the tops cut off and used to hold a crap load of ammo..for 7.62mm you can get 600rds plus in one easy.
As for the feed..always belt fed .
There's also a bag mag as we called it which is just a soft bag which clipped to the side if the gun but normally we'd not bother with it..just have the belt hanging out of the gun or better known as the Rambo style 😉
Weapons like the M249 and Mk46 can use the bag as it's a standard bit of kit for it ..not so much for the 60...it's heavy enough as it is ..depending where we were we'd much preferred the FN MAG or in my case the PKM

Ammo boxes for M60s usually fit onto the mount rather than the gun, so the best thing would be to fit a tray to the left and put a box into that (or, of course, glue some thin plastic card around an ammo box to make a tray and then stick the whole to the mount). Don't use a C-ration can unless the gun is freestanding in some way and doesn't have the later bracket on the left side that allows easy belt feed. Oh, and also don't add it for places that don't have American ration cans.


This video is a bit long for what he's trying to say, not to mention slightly rambling, but from about 6:00 he shows how those cans actually attached, and I must say the method rather surprised me

I remember the C ration can was for feeding a loose belt not in an ammo can. It helped prevent jamming. I've been looking for better pics of the FN installation on the Israeli vehicles to see how they handle ammo but they are hard to find. No rush.

Ken you'll not find much at all or anything really as the Israeli army didnt use the M60 for very long at all and when they did it was in extremelysmall numbers...they much preferred the FN MAG which is a much better machine gun 😉

Just a little progress. Finally got the hitch attached. Plus some extra road wheels I cast with the UV resin. Using the two pour method worked the best.



I made some lights with the UV resin also. They will probably get used somewhere on the Ian McQue project.



I found some Testors paint called flat rubber. Not so much. It might make a future off the wall camo color but its not rubber. At least not like I'm looking for. I'll just mix a little after I paint the road wheels camo colors.

The stuff cures crystal clear and on an exposed surface it's almost optical quality. I overfilled the lights to get the rounded face but you can flat surface by being careful with the amount you put in. Best part is you can mess around with it all you want until you hit it with the UV light then it hardens quickly.
