Bought cheap via facebook, 1/72 nd scale KP Su-7 BKL. Opened the kit up and there is a little(er) one included in the kit. How cool. Thanfully it is only 2 pieces.

It's this boxing. Glad it has the "interesting" Walter inverted 6-cyl inline engine instead of the inevitable Lycoming flat four in the Z-242.



All civvie markings. They're used by lots of militaries as basic trainers, and the Tamil Tigers even used a couple in combat in the 2000s.



It's a tiny little thing: just one sprue that's not much bigger than the decal sheet.

Eduard Royal set of P-51's has arrived. Lots of gribbly bits to tart up the KP and Airfix kits that will be Whiffed. Also a Fw-189 trainer which with a little fettling could be a destroyer in the mould of the Fokker G-1...

Interesting.  Thanks H.  I have various sets of aftermarket spoked wheels which will do for the fronts but the rears, which need to be wider, are proving harder to find.  I might have to see if I can combine spoked centres with wider rims from something else.
The wheels supplied in the kit are unusable IMO.  As wheels anyway.



In the post today, a small packet from RB Models all the way in Poland.  It contained two sets of 1/35 brass bow shackles.

I had a few real Alfettas in my youth, and they were unparalleled fun cars to drive! And in addition to balance and steering communication, the noise. The NOISE! 

Yes, modern cars are better. But not nearly as fun.

They didn't have spray cans of Humbrol as far as I could see. They do have a range of Plastikote cans which are expensive but good in my limited experience.

Not a problem thanks mate, I'm after some pots/tubs of primer for spot priming amongst other things.

I suspect not THAT sort of 'Alfetta'. The Merit (et al) kit and others was of a pre- and post-WWII 1.5 litre supercharged straight eight Grand Prix car that looked like this...............

Went back to SMTF this afternoon because I forgot to look for something yesterday. Didn't find it, but I did pick up a packet of Scalextric bits that includes some nice little hard plastic cones and cylinders that will probably come in useful.

of the outside face of the brake drums.

I'd assumed these were included by mistake so I offered to send them back to the seller, however he's just as puzzled by them as I am, so he said keep them.

I want at least one of the Airfix Vintage Classic P.1127s when they come out, so I'm thinking this could be some sort of double-act with it? Not really sure yet.
I've always been keen on the idea of German Harriers, so maybe have the FRG involved in collaborative ventures right from the start, including their own SC1 and P.1127 prototypes.
The other option would be a real-world build of XG905 which Tom Brooke-Smith tried to fly at SBAC Farnborough in 1959, but which had to about it's VTO when the intake grills became clogged with grass clippings.
