Victoria Police chopper.  Right over the top of the house.  Didn't stop so obviously not looking for me this time.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Some F/A-18 Hornets. Only heard three of them but the fourth one was near enough to be seen above tree tops.

I'm on holiday today and staying very close to RAF Leeming, so lots of jet action. Strangely enough saw exactly the same Hunter as I did yesterday, this time in a pair with a camouflaged Hunter too.

Also saw a pair of Hawks (heard them a lot beforehand too but obscured from view.

I also saw this Typhoon on finals to Leeming. Bloody noisy! ;D

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That flashy Hunter again, three times in two days and two different places.

En route to my 'Country Home' for a week or so, via an EXTREMELY diverted route from my usual one, no thanks to the HS2 railway works, I was buzzed by a couple of black Hawk T2s at a pretty low level and VERY close to each other.

I suppose they had been formerly introduced of course..............

And a fourth time! Got very lucky, it seems to have been doing circuits out of Leeming.

"The flashy Hunter" is operated by Hawker Hunter Aviation which is a Defence Contractor. Looks like it has been flying quite a bit in the Yorkshire - Lincolnshire area, in the last few days: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/xe688

Mossie

Yes, we've got a few contractors in the UK that do DACT, Hawker Hunter Aviation is one of them.  Draken International operate a number of types here too, especially the ex-Cobham fleet of Falcon 20's.

HHA say they also do
  •  Targets for surface units
  •  Army support roles (enemy or friendly CAS)
  •  Target towing
And the two-seater can be used for aircrew training or as a platform for test equipment.

Just had to duck for a Wokka passing very low indeed. A strange thumping sound drew me out on the lawn, and just a few seconds later, it swept by, barely missing my flagpole.
Can't say whether it was American or British as they all seem equally green these days,,

US Wokkas tend to be more khaki than olive green these days; my bet would be British

Quote from: PR19_Kit on August 13, 2024, 07:21:04 AMWhat a wonderful scheme that is! I wonder if there's a decal sheet for it? It'd be pretty complex to apply if there is!

I'm certain that some aircraft schemes are designed purposely to drive modelers up the wall.  ;D
