;D  ;D  ;D ..a wee while back I take it 😆

I left 17 years ago mate  ;D

Glad you've done the research, just surprised I've not seen the Paper, or was it filed under "Top Secret : Open in the event of a Zombie Apocalypse Only" ?  ;)
😆 😁
17yrs ago wasn't that long ago really ..sweet ..semi fresh memories  ;D

As for the research..ummm yeah OK 👍   ;D
I was a kid who grew up on a farm with a father who not only was a master engineer but also a tinkerer so ya just know that's going to be in my blood too..and Chris mate...damn did we tinker
Everything from 120psi air cannons to home made wine presses and what ever else dad would come up with
I miss those days  .

Air cannons reminds me of the pun'kin chunkin contests on TV. How far can you propel a pumpkin with an air cannon not using an engine or motor to pump up the pressure. Lots of bicycles used connected to compressors.
I've seen that Ken ..on TV..bloody impressive when you see how far they can chuck one of those ..ive seen plenty explode when fired..just not getting the setting right or they choose the wrong one 😃

I've often wondered if people actually eat pumpkins or if they are only ever used for various other purposes

How else does one make pumpkin pie?  When I was a young Scooter, when it came time to carving them up for lanterns, my mother would clean, dry roast and salt the seeds in the oven.

My wife likes to carve pumpkins, then makes pumpkin pie and roasts the seeds.

Pumpkin seeds, roasted or not, are yummy.
I do like a nice pumpkin soup in winter.

I understand there are varieties that aren't meant for eating - IIRC these are the ones they use for the Largest/Heaviest competitions.

Man I miss my mums pumpkin pie now you buggers have mentioned that 😆
I'm gonna have to get a recipe and make my own one or twenty

Only ever eaten pumkin once, can't remember if it was in Italy or the U,S., to sweet for me, but then I've never had a sweet tooth even as a child.

Only time I ever had sweet potato I almost spat it out, way to sweet for me. It was as though someone had thrown a handfull of sugar over it. This was somewhere in the Caribbean.

But the American palate can be more oriented to the sweet, from what I understand.
As for the idea of mixing marshmallow into mashed potato... yikes. :-\

I admit to enjoying sweet potatoes, particularly baked, but even I find marshmallows and sweet potatoes together super sweet.  And if you're got that "marshmallows in (regular) mash" from a Nannybook or Tube of Ye "I learned this recipe from (supposedly) my relative" videos, they have no idea how to cook.  I've watched one "Grandma's easy mashed potatoes" and all it was was four cans of Pringles into boiling water.  :o *puke emoji*

I like Kumara (NZ sweet potatoes) to a degree, but they're not a favourite. And some varieties are sweeter than others.
The potatoes and mallows I have seen referred to in a couple of books, set around Halloween.

As for that alleged 'recipe', someone must be extracting the urine! :banghead:
Or they're taking bets on just how gullible some people can be...

OK that kinda explains it mate ...Caribbean cooking can be pretty sweet and very spicy like jerk chicken .
There's two types of sweet potato..golden and red ..the  golden ones are very sweet compared to the red ones which are very mild by comparison.
That's my fav one  ;D
Mash potato and marshmallows ???
No bloody wonder there's alot health issues in the United States of America land 🙄
