It happens all the time to me. Paint that's thick enough to brush usually has a denser concentration of the pigment particles which, with a matt paint, make it duller than sprayed paint.

I find the issue usually goes away after a gloss coat for the decals & a matt clear top coat.

This was actually slightly more shiny than the sprayed surfaces. I'll let it dry completely and look at it tomorrow.

Ken.. the generals ..display board ..bingo   ;D
You can tone down the silver with a thinned black wash ...even tho I have seen track guides shine where you can see yourself in the steel ..admittedly not good enough to shave by tho  ;D  ;D
The end connectors tho get hammered and for display vehicles there normally painted black along with the rest of the track.
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

The light grey parts I used on the dog house I thought were from an M113 but not so much. Jeff Fontaine might know, he sent me those parts.

Ken looking at the gray parts where you've got the Bradley hatch that's a M113 upper rear plate ...fact where the rear crew hatch is 😆
Those little bumps which surround your hatch are tie down loops .

And they say our hobby isn't "Green"

Wonderful use of spare "bits and bobs"   I'm just surprised you know what they were origional from   When something enters my spares boxes they normaly lose their identity.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Some things were fairly recent, some were still their boxes, others, even though I can't remember what I had for breakfast, I remembered from eons ago. Go figure..........

I'm trying to assemble a luggage rack for the engine deck as per the Israeli Puma. The last little bit of some grey Plastruc I beam and some other junk box stuff. Crazy how well the Plastruc part fits with the rest. I'll see how this goes and if I'm happy with it when finished and painted. As I have some repainting to do on the skirts this will get painted at the same time.

Weird collection of bits there.

Hope it comes together for you (it's looking like it should at the moment).

If you want to play "Guess which kit the parts are from" then the bits for the rack would be Difficult level :)
... I know all this and more ...

I finished the stowage rack. Looks pretty good. I painted it and other parts that needed touch up so that's done. I'm still waiting for the paint I ordered. Once I get that I might just finish this beast!
I want to get it done in time for my clubs annual show and contest.

Paint arrived but we're babysitting the granddaughter. Maybe tomorrow.
I found the wedding veil tule in a drawer. I cut two strips and glued they to the inside of the rack. It was like putting on decals that didn't want to behave themselves. Looks pretty good to me. Now I have to paint it again.

I managed to paint the stowage rack and a few loose parts after clearing a clogged drain in the basement. Sure being a homeowner is wonderful. So is being a plumber, electrician, carpenter and brick layer!
Hopefully I'll get to the final color tomorrow. Too late anymore tonight.
