Tamiya 1/35 M41 Walker Bulldog
I've always liked this light tank since seeing it in Beatties in Romford in 1989 but back then it was out of my budget. This time round though? The price hasn't changed much but my budget has definitely improved!

Opened the box up last night and it's a superb looking kit, better than some of the current Airfix or Revell offerings. It's even better when you realise it was released in 1969 when Man Walked On The Moon!  ;D

It looks very easy to build with great surface detail and isn't overengineered like modern kits. I will look at getting an aftermarket metal gun barrel as the 2 halves of a drain pipe in the box look problematic.

Nick good score
As a armour builder for decades you can bet this kit has passed thru my hands quite a few times..it's a cheap kit here and still is ..fact always has been ..which us a surprise for a  55yr old kit .
I've still got one in the stash  ;D
As for upgrades your in luck ..there's a good amount to choose from..tracks ..PE and replacement main guns ..in metal and resin
I'll be doing something with mine once I can nail down the ideas 💡 😌
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Captain Canada

Bought a wee Academy F-4F in 1/144th scale. It's going to be converted to an RAF Falklands era bird. Also snagged another 65 dollars worth of paints and glue.

Picked up a "damaged packaging" Airfix He-111 from my LHS for half price and came home to an A&A Hawk 200 that will be navalised once it makes it to the desktop :) Any ideas for a source of good Skyflash missiles would be appreciated.

Three hobbyboss kits arrived yesterday from kingkit, 2 of whick I have alteady built and one different. TA-7 C, NAW-10 and a Kawasaki T-4. The T-4 is on the bench already, and will be a joint venture between Kawasaki and BAe systems. The aircraft will be mostly aimed at export customers as an advanced trainer with weapons capability, sort of like an Alphajet if you will. Mine will be in "retro" wraparound camouflage with all 5 pylons. Fuel tank on centreline, Brimstone missiles on the inner pylons, and ecm/chaff/ flare pods on the outermost pylons. I was going to make this fleet air arm, so I might get another one yet.

Quote from: zenrat on September 12, 2024, 05:22:47 AMI got another 1/35 Tamiya Jeep today.  This time NOT the SAS one but an ordinary one with a WW2 US Army driver.

I opened this up today.  Surprised me by being completely different moulds to the SAS Jeep.  I had expected it to be the same other than different sprues for the SAS gear and the bar less grille.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It's a new tool that was released in 1997.
The SAS Jeep came out in '74 and is a version of the Jeep w/trailer from '72.

Today I went to both the model shops in town as I needed some paint. Only got one jar so also came home with a oaint brush, another PM mirage, and the airfix P.1127. The mirage will get sliced up, and the P.1127 made ino an in service aircraft, with some pylons, weapons and possibly a new nose, and some aerials.

Was gifted an old tool Revell Condor earlier.  May end up as a Swedish one, probably on a stick.

The fighter version with a pair of Red Tops and nose radar?

Yes, that is what I have been thinking of doing. I will have to look at what to use for the nose, as it will still have to be quite a small radar for something in that timeline. I have some red tops and pylons and rails will be easy enough.

Lightning AI23 radome should fit, it was quite small and compact.  The Matchbox Lightning has it as a separate piece.
