Lots going on at the mo (inc prepping for looming house move, dealing with mother-in-law's post-hip break recovery, arranging to get her (temporarily) into a care home, surprise 2nd Covid session) consequently not much chance of modelling, but some limited progress with the M.21.

Threw together some rudimentary cockpit detail including a scratchbuilt control column and a compass (!)

Aluminium-coloured seat as it's a war-weary early tin-wing Hurricane that was donated to Miles for M.21 work.

But as you can see the interior disappears when the fuselage halves are put together!  Anyway, kept me out of trouble.

Fuselage now added to the wing (which had the engine pod fitted a few weeks ago).  PSR underway, frankly a bit of a pain at the moment and I'm sure that's because I'm rushing things a bit.

Panel lines had previously been scribed but some tidying up is needed as part of the PSR effort.

It looks a lot better than the plug-ugly twin-engine aircrew trainer studies done
under the temporarily assigned M.21 designation.

Twin Merlin XX version.

I think that's quite an attractive design, where did you find it?

Miles' version of an Anson or an Oxford maybe?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Got a B-25 front end ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

kitbasher

There is definitely an 'economy B-25' vibe about it.

It's a poor scan found on the web from the
Putnam on Miles Aircraft. It's one I haven't
got around to scanning from my copy of the book. I can scan the illustration and info if you'd like.

kitbasher

Yes please (strictly at your convenience).  Will PM my email address over the weekend.

The time has come to pack this away, hopefully work on it can resume next week.  Really don't want to let Tophe down by not fnishing it by the dealine, at the same time I don't want to rush and spoil it.

Primed with Humbrol Aluminium all over, undersides yellow under way (Humbrol Hu81 Pale Yellow is a good undercoat for Humbrol Hu24 Trainer Yellow followed by a top coat of Xtracolor X011 Trainer Yellow.  Some very limited PSR still required before masking and adding an undercoat of Dark Earth to the upper surfaces.  That'll be the first post-move modelling task.

Well Tophe I'm sorry mon ami but this won't be done by tonight's extended deadline.  Too much other stuff getting in the way of modelling right now but I promise it'll be the first part-build I'll work on once I get the chance.

 :banghead:  :banghead:
It showed great promise for the group build. I'm certain it will be good when finished.

Robomog

Man that's a shame, It's so elegant and tophe I think it would have pulled quite a few points.

I look forward to seeing this completed.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one. Life does have a way of getting in the way.

Thanks for the positive comments, chaps.

Yep, real life, eh?  What a pain in the parts that can be!
