The only original parts so far are the driver's seat and upper body. The nose baseplate, wheels, windscreen and air scoop are from a Hong-Kong toy Formula One 'Martini' car with a friction engine driving the rear wheels.
The seat has been moved to the rear and filling the gap where the flywheel would have been, the air scoop fits behind it. As the original nose is missing the racing car nose fills it's place leaving a gap where seat used to be. This will be filled in with spare parts (I'm looking for something appropriate).

The setup has changed, I found a racing seat, steering wheel and headlights, so the driver is sitting in the original position. Behind the driver is the engine. I have cut the Dinky Toys exhaust pipes and fitted them behind the engine at a slight angle. The headlights are from a BMW Mini One which have been cut to fit.
Tail lights still need to be found and the nose fitted. The gaps will be filled eventually .
There's probably cars with the front wheels behind the driver's seat, I don't know any offhand.
