I'm currently in the process of building 4 Battlestar Galactica models for an upcoming model contest in June where the main theme is "Sci-Fi on the Silver Screen".
I've got one model done already which is shown below. I'm currently at work right now on the Moebius Models Battlestar Pegasus kit which I hope to have done next week sometime.
The pics below are of my Moebius Models 1/4105 scale Battlestar Galactica from the 2003 tv series of the same name. I didn't whif the model very much except add extra gun turrets and change the name from the Galactica to the Rycon.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Nice work. BSG is a show that has a fair smattering of nice kits, from all versions of the show.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Continuing this thread..............

As you can see from the pictures further above, I did build the Moebius Models 1/4105 scale Battlestar Galactica from the rebooted 2003 tv series into a different what if Battlestar. I renamed it the Rycon and added several more gun turrets to it.

Now for the pictures below, I did finally finish the Moebius Models 1/4105 scale Battlestar Pegasus from the same 2003 rebooted tv series. But I changed it with a new name of TRITON and added lots more extra gun turrets for a more powerful ship. I also changed the hull color to a more darker tone. The very last picture below is when I took the Triton to a model contest several days ago and won. :)

Right now, I'm currently at work on another Battlestar, but this one is the original configuration from the original 1970's tv series. Hope to be done with it in the next week or two.

A few additional notes:

If you compare the second picture of the Triton which shows the top of the craft with all the extra guns added to it with the last picture of when I took it to a contest, you'll see the following.
1. Painted extra panels on the nose of the craft red.
2. Added at least 6 extra gun turrets. You'll have to look closely to see where they are. ;)
3. Why the darker paint on the Triton compared to my earlier Rycon model? I always thought the Pegasus (and her captain) in the tv series was a bit of a "maverick" so to speak. Cain was out for blood. She was gung-ho and wanted revenge for what happened to the 12 Colonies being attacked by the Cylons. So I painted the Triton in a darker steel paint to reflect her mood so to speak and her quest for retribution. I also think the darker steel color paint just simply looks better on a mightier warhorse type vessel such as the Pegasus/Triton. Even the red on the nose of the Triton is a darker shade than the red on the Rycon model.

Two extra at the front of the forward hull gun lines; two bracketing the centre-line forward of the existing guns on the mid-section; & an extra turret at the rear of the each of the outriggers.

Can't see if there are any more on the underside, my long-distance, temporal X-ray goggles haven't arrived. (I think they may have created their own mini paradox & disrupted into a small galaxy of micro space-time discontinuities.)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Only the topside needed more gun turrets. The bottom of the ship has enough and doesn't need anymore.

So here's No.3 finished what if Battlestar model. I present to you, the Battlestar Atlantia.
Most notes are written in the pictures. One note is that to the best of my understanding and knowledge, an original series Battlestar was supposed to have about 32 known turbolaser turrets. At least, that's what most sources say the Galactica had. I decided to up gun my Battlestar with at least 45 turrets. ;)

So 3 Battlestars down. 2 more to go. Below is an old pic of all the battlestars that I planned to make.
The one on the very far left is a mashup of leftover parts from a BSG kit that I screwed up on.
This shorter Battlestar will actually be called a Gunstar instead. Think of it as a small destroyer or frigate type ship.
I still have one more original 1970's era Battlestar to make and that one will be called the Pacifica.
It will have green striped markings instead.
