Considering your skills with a fluffy stick mate a tiger stripe paint job would be a doddle
And besides..we'd all live to see it  ;D

Concur!
The hardest thing with Tiger Stripes is the random look - my Hobbes 3-D print wore regular, uniform stripes before the paint was stripped and reapplied; he looks a lot better now!

Probably easiest to have a transfer sheet to hand, to copy.

Hand painting is a perfectly reasonable option, if I do say so myself;

Here's the J-15 as is.

Also today, the Battle got its wings, the Fiero got its clear polished, and the Hilux and Boomerang got flat cleared.

Battle now has wings and tails and I scribed some panel lines on around the nose where i'd sanded off the raised detail.

I've started final assembly of the Fiero.  Slow and carefull.  I don't want to gouge anything on this one.

Interior fitted into the Fiero body shell.  Rear window went in first but unusually for a model car the rest of the "glass" goes in from the outside and so can wait for later.  I had to trim the inside of the body slightly to get the interior to sit far enough back that the wheels will be centred in the arches when the chassis is fitted.

And the Battle...

Thanks folks.  I think it's ready for paint.  A white undercoat first though.

I've found some transfers for the Tiger meet RAAF Hornet I posted earlier.  I'll put them on a Hasegawa F/A-18.  In the meantime I will attempt to brush the same scheme on the Egg J-15.

Slow progress on the Fiero.  All "glass" is now in place but the chassis needs to be glued in stages.  First the rear, located snugly against the rear boot liner, and then tomorrow, when the epoxy is nicely set i'll glue and clamp the front.  The chassis is either sightly warped or the fit just isn't very good.  My money is on the latter as there are a number of issues i've encountered which i've already detailed, plus this, and also neither the hinged bonnet or boot can be made to be functional AND have decent panel gaps.  Maybe there is a reason why i've never seen one of these built...

Wings and tails on the MiG 15.  Some light PSR will be needed.  As will a decision on a colour scheme.

I've begun the painting of the French soldier to accompany the VBL but I need to build a base for them to stand on.  I'm thinking of making it on the large size so it can be multi purpose and used for other, future vehicles.  I'm thinking of a rectangular base with a curved section of bitumen with a broken edge and some grass and rocks.  Like the side of a country road at a non specific temperate location during late spring.

You sound so efficient wen you're describing your multi-project progress like this. I am impressed! I also have too many projects ongoing simultanelously, but I make some minor progress on one or so a week..  :banghead:
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

zenrat

Efficient?  If only you could see the chaos within which I work...

 ;D

But I work best that way.  Dipping in and out of various kits until I finish one.  At which point I start another.

Speaking of which, 1/35 Italeri Staghound AA armoured car.  As Phill said "It's an Italeri".  So soft and low detail, iffy fit in places, nasty wheels...
I think I can improve the kit wheels, but if I fail I do have options in the parts boxes.
Thinking of painting it in the Caunter Scheme which is inappropriate as it dates from '40/'41 and Staghounds didn't come into service until '44.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

zenrat

Masked the demarcation on the Battle (very high as it's a Coastal Command bird) and drew on the camo scheme.  Then it was time to walk the dog.

Staghound is coming together.  I take back what I said about detail.  It's not bad.  About the right amount, some moulded, some PE.  But not OTT like a Takom or MiniArt interior kit.  No interior or engines.  Wheels are still not very nice though.  I'm looking at the options in my boxes.
I'm tempted to replace the guns with aftermarket resin and PE items but that might then lead to getting carried away so i'll try to improve the kit items first.

Three wheels on the Fiero.  The fourth one is the tricky one as it may require slight adjustment to prevent three wheeling.
