A griffon engined Spitfire growling across the sky, vaguely in the direction of Luton, but I doubt it was going there exactly.

Hm, yes, Griffon engines DO 'growl', don't they, whereas Merlins 'sing'?

Indeed they do!

We were rather brutally chased out of bed last night by a Blackhawk passing quite fast and indeed very very low, first going east at ca 23:00 hrs and then about an hour later, returning west, most likely heading for the RSwAF helicopter wing at Malmen Air Base, Linköping. Pitch dark, it was, but as earlier stated - over here, we train as we're expected to fight.

Two Chinook passing straight and deep over Hannover on wednesday with HUGE NOISE in front of my kitchen windows. They were so near that i had no time to catch the camera !

It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep . Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

The E-4B flew over the shack on the way to the airshow. Neat. In other news, the Reds were there, and it's the first time I've seen the Hawker Hunter in flight. Not over my house, but close enough lol.

Having been stuck in the house all day, looking after Madame R  (the hip operation is healing nicely, thank you) I've noted a great deal more trainer; both prop and  jet;  and helicopter traffic than usual .  Within the last four hours, we've had Texans, Hawks, a Chinook, a couple of RN Merlins,  the SAS Dauphin and a Robinson that lives at Shobden.

I heard another light plane doing engine out practice. We get these occasionally. I think some pilot training school uses this area as it's usually pretty quiet compared to the rest of the Chicago flight area.

Good to hear!

Ditto! When I had mine done our dog would lay right next to me on the bed right where the incision was. It was like she knew there was an injury there.

Animals know what we don't always know.

Anyway, not today but y'day walking to the office.  A PC-12 passing over downtown Trenton on final to RWY34.
