Possibly "Grim" would be a better word than "Dark", we'll have to work that out. ;)

So, having put the Malkara (M3) Grant aside for now, I have put the Pegaso Models 75mm (1/24) "Northern Wandering Knight XIV Century" on the work bench.

The image on the box cover is about as close to an instruction sheet that this figure comes with, so construction is a matter of common sense (which, luckily, I have a little bit of), trial-&-error, & a smidge of good luck.

The build will be as close to "OoB" as that combination will allow & it is the painting that is going to be the What If... part of this build.

My aim is to blend a number of styles into one (hopefully) cohesive whole.

First influences will be various traditional Santa Claus';

With a few warrior (Santa) influences;

But no Samurai Santa inspiration (although, it is kinda cool);

And absolutely NO weird, deformed AI generated Warrior Santa creepiness, either! :o

Currently in the process of cleaning up the minor flash/casting marks on the parts - a lot less obvious than on most plastic models but much more difficult to get rid of (a quick scrape of the ol' No.11 just doesn't do the trick on white metal). :rolleyes:

I am much looking forward to viewing the results of advanced WOMBATTRY in regard to this figure!

If you were doing Grim you would need a second one so you could do them as brothers  :rolleyes:  :angel:  ;D

Having "dark" and "knight" in the same sentence (even if separated by "xmas") makes me expect Batman.

However, rendered in German its a different matter.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

A-anyway, clean-up is done.

Next is working out where to drill to fit the strengthening pins - they don't have to be super-strong but strong enough to hold the weight of the pieces firmly against gravity.

Having watched a few YT videos, & read a few articles, I'll be using Araldite (2-part epoxy adhesive) to fix everything together. CA seems to be common for smaller figures (gaming, older pre-resin, etc.) but epoxies seem to be the go for heavier builds like this one.

I'll be using Apoxy Sculpt to fill in any gaps, when I get that far.

Anyway, back to work tomorrow & I've been asked to start early (to fit an anklet to some bloke so he can catch a bus to wherever), therefore not much going to get done tonight.

Mentioned this in your blog Womby mate..soft brass wire ..ive used it in the past for white metal figures..it's kinda perfect ..easy to bend but strong enough to to hold a 1/16th metal Knight together and trust me..that was heavy .
1mm will work for ya  :thumbsup:

I don't have brass wire but I do have some approx. 0.8mm galv. steel wire which should be fit for purpose.

Be a bit careful with galv wire. If you damage the zinc coating then it will rust and that might well play silly buggers with the white metal alloy casting. It's all a case of "might" as I don't know what the white metal alloy is.
