It doesn't help that many of the Russian Kontakt boxes were delivered empty.

Like the ones the Iraqis had in GW1...

Yeah to ture...doesn't surprise me at all with all the corruption there ..a company gets a contract to make these ..the bosses pocket most if the cash and the army gets stock piles of armour the company who made em never expects to see used ..but when they are its brown pants time for the companies directors and if they can manage it..a very long holiday 😀.

Captain mate Ken nailed...good ol CA did the trick ..I was going to solder it but then the words "bugger it" came to mind and I went with that  <_<

Ken I've had it so long I don't really remember where but ill get it's either Lucky Hobby or BNA model world...it's ment just fir the Meng D9R armoured bully but when has that ever stopped us lot ? 😁

Most of the Meng D9 kits said they had the bar armor in the kit but there was a set from Voyager.

There's this set for the Stryker.

Ken the set I used is from E T Model and the set which comes with the kit is plastic not brass .
Meng makes both versions of the D9 with and without armour .
And yeah I'm well aware of the Stryker Slat sets..3 fecking times I've been aware  :banghead:
I'm never building another Slat armoured Stryker again  no matter who it's for .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

The Luchs is/was a cool vehicle. Most disturbing (beyond its tendency to tip over when swimming...) was how silent this huge vehicle was. Witnessed one during a Bundeswehr demo day many years ago, and I can understand why an order was issued to infantrists not to camp in open terrain during maneuvers, because there had been several accidents when Luchs tanks simply rolled over tents or sleeping bags at night, because noone heard the tank coming...

Out of all the military vehicle's I've looked at or been near to I've never seen one of these in the flesh 😳
It's like a mystical machine you know of and you know their real but ya just never see it or hear it.. ..turns out it's ture 😆

Yeah, it was a "final" evolution of a concept that had been born in the interwar period - and the Luchs was really an impressive vehicle, not only size-wise!

It's the size which got my attention when I first saw one in a mag some where ..then the model from Revell..ive had a few of WW2 German wheeled armoured cars..8rad and Puma and the rest ...this beast is just the modern version of its WW2 brethren..so instant like 👍
I'd like to get the newest release of this machine ..it'll be far better than Revells for sure .

I have built an 1:72 Revell model of the Luchs a while ago, as an anti-tank weapon carrier prototype, with basically a reversed hull with the engine ahead to minimize barrel overhang:

1:72 Thyssen-Henschel 8×8 Waffenträger VTS3 "Diana", 1st prototype during trials; Bundeswehr Training Area Munster (West Germany), 1984 (What-if/modified Revell kit)

Thomas mate that like all of your builds looks bitchin ...it looks right and any large increase in firepower always looks right   ;D

Inspiration was, in part the Italian "Centauro" 8x8 tank hunter. The Luchs chassis appeared like a logical basis for a Bundeswehr vehicle.  ;D
