The Wooksta!

Good news about the Skybirds acquisitions.  The Hunter T-bird is very nice.  I'm curious as to the un-released masters.

Quote from: scautomoton on October 06, 2024, 09:22:36 AM@Freightdog862 , do you have a list of everything you've produced? Or at least of kits which could still potentially be produced from moulds? For instance I wasn't aware of all the previous TSR2 stuff.

Unfortunately I don't currently have a list of everything I've produced, I sometimes find myself looking on scalemates to remind me! The TSR.2 sets getting re-issued will be the fuel set (1435 gal ventral belly tank, wing tanks and IFR probe), Blue Water set (ventral tank, IFR probe and two wing mounted Blue Water missiles and pylons), outboard ECM pods and extented nose leg, all in 1/72.

Thanks,
Colin

Quote from: Thorvic on October 07, 2024, 04:58:56 AMThe TSR2 sets would be welcome, such as the pylons &  bombs, droptanks, refuelling probe etc. as will be the FAA decals and the Wasp

Would like to see the Dominie naval conversion, if possible.

Geoff
I will see if I can get more Dominie sets cast up.

They are all WWI or inter-war subjects, some quite obscure. The Inter-war ones are large flying boats, I haven't got all of them delivered yet. I'm hoping to follow the Prentice with the MB.5, as currently there isn't any competition available.

Colin. Better prepare for a bulk order of the MB5 from the old man of the sig  ;)

The Wooksta!

The only things wrong with the MB5 was the rather basic cockpit interior and the weight of the white metal in the nose making the undercarriage sag.  And you only got one canopy, which has yellowed.  I've a built one to salvage.

Might also be worth looking at the Hornets too, particularly the Navy ones, as AZ didn't do them, so there's no competition (the Special Hobby one was full of errors and omissions, whilst Magna only did the NF21 with the wing hinge, and even then, he'd used a warmed over Frog Hornet as a master.) If you do go down that route, consult with either John Adams or David Collins.  What they don't know about the Hornets isn't worth knowing.  AZ's Hornets had some nice detail but the engines lacked the streamlined chunkiness of the real thing. I was rather disappointed by them.

The single seat resin Hunters aren't worth repopping, but the T-bird certainly is.  Could do with more surface detail but that's about it.

The Skybirds MB5 need some fettling around that belly intake, and a stock one would need a radiator shutter too, as Alastair did on his recent build. The Skybirds kit has no sing of that flap.

That should fit on a 1/72 North American RA-5C or a Mig-25. Which would be the makings of a navy version of the Mig-25 or the air force Vigilante.

Not quite finished yet though Kit! That shutter and the trim need painting and then decals as well as the odd detail or two. It will be at Telford and ready to confuse a few punters as well.

Quote from: Freightdog862 on October 06, 2024, 04:23:40 AMSame goes for real world stuff. I will have the Westland Wasp complete resin 1/72 kit (for those who can't be bothered with fixing the LF one)

Any idea of the price on that? Couldn't find it on your web site.

The Wasp is looking like £33.00, it won't be on the website until after Telford.
