Nice one

I've already made three replies to that post, using all 280 characters each time...

Just put in another vote for the Venom.

And what we'll probably see produced is another Spitfire variant and a new tool FW190.  Both in 1/48.

because with eleventy-one kits on these subjects already available, what's needed is one more

Can you retract that statement, as it's somewhat offensive?

The market's been that way for decades, but it doesn't stop manufacturers trying to out-do each other with some rather pointless detail upgrades.

Airfix's Shackleton being a classic case, umpteen hours and pounds spent on 'fully detailing' the interior, and yet when the model's built not ONE item of it is visible! What's the point?

I have no problem with firms actually dong that, but for goodness sake provide at least one fuselage half in clear plastic so we cane SEE the interior.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Only eleventy one? Seems like a lot more unfortunately.  Personal view only but, Even one more Spitfire is one too many. FW-190 would be nice though.

YES! I would do the Sea Venom as RCN, and maybe the Scimitar.

Quote from: The Wooksta! on October 13, 2024, 01:22:39 PMThe single seaters are easy enough, with a new pod for the two seater, but a Sea Venom would need new undercarriage cut out, as well as wing fold and new roots.

Plus an arrestor hook fairing.

Plus different radomes, different tail booms and different canopies if each of the Venom NF/Sea Venom FAW variants were to be covered.

I'd like to see a retooled BAe Nimrod MR.2P and since no one has provided a complete plastic Avro Shackleton MR.1 . It would mean that the MR.2 fuselage having a new cockpit and new engines for the earliest versions.
A simplified tank transporter as I've never been able to complete the Airfix kit!

Personally and given the current financial situation various companies are in I'm just happy to see them still going and producing new tools.

As I said, too much change for Airfix to cover every variant with one set of tools.  Their current business model sees either decal changes or minimal extra tooling to get a different mark (see the Blenheim, Mosquito and Lightning for prime examples).
