Well, it's M'box, of COURSE it has 3 colour mouldings.  ;D

When those Revell hoodlums got hold of it they did them all the same colour, how boring! :(

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Good score Dave.
And kudos for not fleecing them but explaining what they had.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Received this evening from eBay

1 x 1/144 Airfix 03171 Vickers Vanguard in the "Classic Airliners" Special Editio boxing. Probably going to become one of the Maritime Nimrod versions.

From the local hobby shop:

Model Scene HO/OO Packing Cases

Three long, thin wooden packing cases, such as you might transport long tubes (gun barrels!) in. I want them because I need a short length of woodgrain decking, and this is the cheapest way to get it.

What about coffee stirrers?
The coffee shops at the BP stations here have lots of them for free...

Didn't someone paint a real aircraft in three colors as if it was an assembled kit?

Buy a kit that Matchbox never did, build it up and paint sections in three different colours. Looks like it's a Matchbox kit but it isn't so it's a wiff

How many of the props are still intact?
Airfix sprue design makes them very vulnerable to blade loss.

Have you got the S&M conversion kit for that version Alastair?

For some reason I have the instructions for the conversion but not the resin bits.  :banghead:

Talk really nicely to almost any coffee shop staff and they will give you a slack handful of stirrers for nothing

It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

Two blades in total are off. The kit had several parts loose in the box, no bag present but I knew that from pictures, all parts were in the box.

I didn't know there had been a conversion set available.

It has a hefty radome under the forward fuselage, a smaller one aft, a fin-top EWR fairing and a MAD boom for the tail, and looks pretty good.

JayBee did his own scratchbuilt one a while back now, but not using the S&M conversion.

Sounds interesting as I don't know of a Vanguard with radars in that configuration.

Steel Penguin

the 1st part of my Accurate  Armour order has arrived

an Abbot SPG
a CET   both in 1:35
a set of modern  personal hanging gear, a set of Bergans and bedrolls, a set of Challenger 2 ammo, a set of Chally 2 wheels, a set of chally 2 spare wheels, a set of British AFV bins , a etch set of mechanics tools and tray, a pack of barber wire, and 2 sets of the UN markings ( UNIT flags are a thing you see  ;)   )

fortunately  it was as well packed as any of the orders ive ever had  as despite it being Royal Mail 48 hours signed for   and clearly labelled as Fragile ( yes i know red rag to a bull.       )  it was put over a 6 foot high fence onto my back yard,  thank Bob it was dry otherwise i would be lamenting my decals .  no signature...
Ive sent my normal " ive got the order" e-mail to AA  praising the packing,  its due deserved, but asked them to have a poke at RM

But all in all happy Penguin dance here.  WARK!
