10X 'Go-get-em-sticks'? Loaded for Bear(s), indeed!!  ;)

I have heard of folk putting talc into small holes and then a drop of super glue; the powder wicks the liquid into the hole, rather than surface tension keeping it on top.

Have fun in the Big Smoke.  :thumbsup:

Oh the big smoke sucked massive farts Rick ..got pulled over by a cop for doing the phenomenal speed of 8kph over the stupidly low speed of 50 ...then only yo find my fecking license expired a month ago ...do guess what I'm getting renewed tomorrow.
Did score a 48th scale Buccaneer today so not all bad .

More than you'd believe mate...man we live in a country where they love making driving here as unpleasant as possible.
Apparently my birth certificate is no good for id as it was issued before 1998  :o
So I've had to order another one..with at least a weeks wait  :banghead:
Vtnz are the largest pack of wallies this world has ever seen .

Now for more pleasant news 😀
The Viggen remains untouched but that's going to change tomorrow and the Buccaneer is stripped of paint 😁
Oh it also fell to bits pretty much..man I love builders who paint everything and then glue it together 🤙🤘😃

Easier than when they've used super glue; or the correct cement which has welded things together...

Who ever built this Buccaneer Rick did do it right and wrong at the same time and the way the glue is behaving a long time ago ..the glue is strange as in places is like crystalline and in others it's still very strong yet it's all the same colour .
Still though ..it's making my life easier anyway  :thumbsup:

Older glues can do funny things over time.

Yeah like turn yellow and I'm pretty sure this is a Airfix kit from the colour of the plastic...it's like a blue colour to it ..and it's old ..it feels old .
So nice to have one  ;D

Fairly sure Airfix are the only company to have built a 1/48 Buccaneer (but I could be wrong) & you now have;

the "old mould" kits (1994) &;

the "new mould" kits (2022);

Yours sounds like the 1994 version - the same as I used for HMAS Buccaneer (having forked out for two 2022 versions).

Building that kit, even for a far-left-field build like the submarine, was ... challenging. I wouldn't have wanted to make a proper Buccaneer out of it.

This things job is Interceptor...a very very fast  interceptor so it's being armed as such ..6 X AIM 120C  AMRAAMs and 4 X AIM 9X Sidewinders .
Will  be no work tomorrow as it's off to Auckland day  and I'm hoping to be scoring a 48th Buccaneer  :thumbsup:
Priming will happen before the weekend I'm thinking with colour hitting it shortly after once I decide what colours I'm gonna paint in ..ive got a winter scheme at the front of the soft bit at the mo .
I think it will look very cool with it's shape .
Makings will be Swedish   ;D
My very first Swedish aircraft  :thumbsup:

I like that, 6x AMRAAMs!  Might be a bit heavy on the Sidewinders though, if it were me I'd do 8-2 instead of 6-4.

Yes, I'm pretty sure your right there Wombie.  :thumbsup:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I'd definitely say its the 94 version Guy for sure ..the detail is pretty good really once I'd stripped it..even the terrible looking landing gear and wheels look good now 😀
The plastic has a old brittle sound to it which is something I'm gonna keep my eye on when hacking this up .
I did have a feeling that Airfix was the only one who made a Buccaneer in 48th..can't remember ever seeing any other brand making it .
