Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Hmmm. I see rules. But I don't see a description of the theme or idea behind the GB. Is there a discussion somewhere that lead up to the creation of the GB?

The discussion thread for this season's Group Builds was here: https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=52685.0

But, in general the theme and idea is:
Quote from: NARSES2 on October 12, 2024, 05:45:01 AM2.  Physical models of any scale, profiles, and/or stories are eligible. but they need to be representative of use in polar locations, including extraterrestrial ice worlds such as Andoria, Hoth, or Europa.  For the purposes of this group build, Earth-based "Polar Locations" is defined as above 60 degrees North/South latitude.

Entries can be as simple or as complex as you wish. If in doubt as to what is included in the GB then please PM the Moderators.

Military, civilian; research or combat.  If it can be used in either polar location or on an extraterrestrial "Snowball Earth" type planet, it's good to go.

We don't discuss and then create.  That smacks of committee behaviour and as Robert A Heinlein said "a committee is a creature with more than six legs and no brain".
No, we use a much more sophisticated method.  We vote, moderators volunteer and develop the scope with Chris,  and then we argue...
It appears that in this case everyone is pretty happy with the scope as it is and we are skipping the arguing...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I think we tend to debate more then argue
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

It could be described as a robust discussion. Not that I'm arguing. Just a clear and frank exchange of views.  ;D

61(ish) degrees North, just the other day. Doesn't feel particularly "polar"???

But I came in here for an argument!  ;D
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

No you didn't. You came here to build models and show them off for prospective plaudits from your fellow modelers

Oops. Seem to heave started a thread drift worse than an iceberg.

Talking of icebergs - Titanic was too far south for this. Unless she gets really lost and found 100 years later in the ice.

John Watson wrote The Final Act - a story in which the last German WW2 battleship Hindenberg is abandoned on Greenland to be recovered decades later.

Firefox - that old Cold War classic. Who amongst us plans to refuel a Soviet secret jet on the icepack?
On a similar theme - Mike Lunnon-Wood wrote Angel Seven. It's about a top secret interceptor jet intended to bring about world peace. Located in an underground hangar on Iceland.

Iceland Defence Force - massively upgraded since the discovery of Unobtainium mines in the tundra.
Iceland - Red Storm Rising, Soviet invasion etc.

Antarctic Snow Cruiser - modern version for a 21st Century expedition

Here's a sneaky little one - Robert Falcon Scott planting the British flag at the South Pole as Amundsen arrives in second place.  ;)

I did an "Iceland looks east" thread on here - a Warsaw Pact-aligned Iceland that told NATO to sod off after the Cod Wars.

And hey have a fistfight on place.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Oh, I'm sure it will get a bit chilly during the coming winter, too.
... but it is not like I'm likely to run into a polar bear, unless one escapes from a zoo  ;D

I had to look that up only to find that I was wrong in thinking Finland had an Arctic coastline, only short, but I thought it had one. You live and learn
