A night early in 1991 has stuck to my mind. Must have been 17 January. I was on a Government temp job (UN Interim Force in Lebanon). Coalition attack on Iraq had just begun and Iraq started launching Scuds against Israel. There was a chance that they might have chemical weapons. When there were missiles heading towards northern Israel, UNIFIL got the warning too. Some time in the very early hours, I woke up to "Gas Gas Gas!" Mask on, suit on, boots on, grab my rifle, and head for my station in the Ops building.

A couple of days later, it was determined that a chemical weapon was unlikely to fall right on top of us, and we no longer had to suit up if missiles were heading for Haifa.

It was in Savanna Georgia where it was 85F and about 85% humidity. I almost passed out. It was my first ride in an ambulance. A few hours in AC with lots of water and Gatorade. The medics stopped counting how many people they hauled in.

During the 177th's ORI prep, we were in MOPP2 from the minute we entered the base to when we left 12 hours later.  In the same conditions.  I regularly poured out a quarter to half cup of sweat that had accumulated in the protective overboots at my car every night.

Getting back on topic of the Rules for this insanity...

Diecast use falls under the same rules category as scrapped or partial builds.  You can use parts, but not the intact, out of the box, diecast.

It hit so hard the turret went thru the bottom of the hull which flattened the tank .
Would have made a awesome piece of lawn art

Nope 😄
Still funny ...the one I saw was flattened..like the top of the turret was the same height as the hull 😆
Also looked like is was scrub country where it fell .

Looks like everyone is in chem suits. I hated those things. I hope it was cold out to keep from overheating.
NBC suits ..oh happy happy joy joy 😡
The only thong ive ever worn where I felt like I peed myself all day long  :banghead:
Twice was more than enough thank ya very much.

We had several NBC practices while I was in the navy. Sweden being Sweden, temperatures wasn't the main issue, but it was bad enough hauling each other on stretchers up and down hatches and manholes in the ship, trying to avoid banging the poor sod on the stretcher to death while the gas mask limited your field of vision even beyond what lack of oxygen through the gas filters did. Happy days..
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

When I was in the RDAF someone decided, that we as part of a NBC drill, we should wash down a truck, that have been "contaminated" with nerve gases. In full NBC gear - of course. It was on one of the hottest summerdays - of course. I suggested we should burn the truck instead. Much easier - same result. No one listened.

I've come to realise that the Rules should have included a clause stating that the use of the word "cool" is not allowed in any comments on people's builds  ;) To late now, I'll just have to get an enlarged "Book".  ;D  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
