Probably something like this.

You know I think Airfix should be applauded for their Lysander release.  I say that as a dyed in the wool 72er but I must say of their recent larger scale aircraft releases the 1/24 Typhoon, the 1/48 Anson anx now the Lysander really appeal.

Of the three I feel I will invest in a first boxing of the Anson kit before they disappear.  Beautiful kit and my Uncle Charlie flew once or twice in the 31 GRS option.

Well I hope so, otherwise everybody will have reason to complain about it.

Well, while very underwhelmed by the news, I suppose we have the 2025 full range announcement to look forward to. Though, if past experience is any judge, I suspect it will be triumph of hype over substance .

If you can get a pair of 20mm Oerlikons in 1/48th, you can make the ground attack version they experimented with.

If there had been an invasion in 1940 then who knows what they would have been used for and how they'd have been used ? Especially if Churchill had remained as PM then there would of been no restrictions whatsoever  :-\

Airfix have given everybody in the Airfix Club early access to their Black Friday sale.
HOWEVER THE CODE EXPIRES AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.

So far, this seems to consist of:

1/48th Vampire F.3 : £17.49
1/72nd Swordfish Mk.1 Channel Dash edition : £12.49
1/72nd Vulcan B2 Black Buck edition : £37.49
1/48th Spitfire Mk.XVIII : £14.99

All prices are 50% off RRP. Sale ends 02Dec2024

I don't know whether any more will be added, but it seems likely, otherwise it's a bit of a thin sale.

I don't want any of these, but I'm quite willing to use my code to buy things for other people if they want. However please note:

1. MY CODE EXPIRES AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT (14Nov2024)
2. DM ME: don't just reply to this thread 'cos I may not see it in time.
3. My Airfix Club 10% discount does NOT apply to these, so the only advantage is making sure you get them rather than risking them going out of stock.
4. Shipping is free if the order is over £30, £3.95 otherwise.
5. I don't know if my code will work more than once, so if multiple people are interested I will wait as long as possible then put one order through. This also increases the chance of getting free shipping too.

EDIT: Okay, the discount code's expired now. The sale will still start on Black Friday if you want anything: If anybody wants to get anything from it, I'm happy to put the order through for you, so that you can a) benefit from free postage by bulking up orders and b) benefit from my 10% Airfix Club discount, which will still apply.

Airfix's open-to-everybody Black Friday sale has now gone live. As predicted, it includes many more kits than the four half-price ones I posted about before. Most of the discounts are more modest, being of the order of 25%, although there are some more half-price ones as well.

There's too many to list here. Heres a link to the sale pages:

https://uk.airfix.com/shop/black-friday?langPath=airfix-uk&filters%5Bin_stock%5D=true&filters%5Bmandatory_filter_by%5D%5Bproduct_group%5D=AIRFIX%20Black%20Friday&page_id=140259&sort-by=8&page=1

Roughly half price or better:

1/72nd:
Swordfish Mk.1 Channel Dash
Vulcan B2 Black Buck
Willeys Jeep
Lancaster B.3 Dambusters
Sea Harrier FRS.1
Harrier GR.7A/9
Blood Red Skies Battle of Britain pack (tabletop wargame including 2 x Spitfire Mk.II + 2 x Bf109, all in the same box)

1/48th:
Vampire F.3
Spitfire Mk.XVIII
Spitfire Mk.Vb
Spitfire Mk.VII
F-86F-40 Sabre
Hunter FGA.9
Lynx HMA.8
P-51D Mustang

To those for whom such news is akin to the second coming of Christ, Aldi are once again selling Airfix starter sets at £6.99. For the rest of us, it's the same tired old selection of kits they've been selling since before the FIRST coming of Christ!

They've added the Vampire T-bird this year.  Could be tempted with an extra one.
