The fictional tool company that sponsored Tool Time, the diy/home improvement/tool show that Tim Allen's sitcom "Home Improvement" was built around.

And I see they've been sorted into the House of Milwaukee (Tools).  Personally, I'm a Ryobi; my late father was a Makita.

I am Milwaukee as far as cordless goes.  But my plug in power tools are a mixture of makes as I bought the best I could afford at the time I needed it.
My pride and joy is my DeWalt Biscuit Cutter.

You need POWER to cut your biscuits in Oz?  :o

They must be some pretty hefty biscuits!

Biscuit joiner used to make slots in two planks so you can glue 2 planks together to make a board...a,very common tool for making multi piece table tops 😉
If you already knew what that tool was then please ignore everything I've said 😆 🤣

There used to be a type of biscuit, made by Arnott's Biscuits, called a "Bush Biscuit", originally baked as something akin to ships' biscuit for drovers, cattlemen & general outback living.

The original formula did require power tools to cut them! You didn't bite on them, you gnawed them.

Later formulae softened them until they weren't worth buying.

Apparently made by a crowd called "Paradise Foods Ltd" in PNG, too.

PS: The original bake house is now ... a bakery, owned (again) by members of the Arnott family!

My Brother in Law likes to bring Bush Biscuits back from PNG.  Along with these...

A Biscuit Cutter is a complete luxury and not really required for the amount of furniture building I do but I had always wanted one and I got this redundancy payment...

Nice one Fred. I like a car model that looks well used instead of "showroom".

Reminds me of one time I was at Matlock Bath. All the usual shiny Harleys will sod-all miles on them were there, but the owners were a bit pissed off because the only one gathering a crowd was a dirty black ratted one with 90-odd thousand on the clock that had been ridden all over Europe, continuously, for years.

If I have any tool allegiance, it's to Bosch for my beloved 10.8V cordless drill and impact driver.

Ya welcome matey 😀

As it comes to power tools..I don't know ..ive got heaps of them from many different brands and I don't really have a fav either.
The problem here is the good brands have stupidity high prices and with no other reason then to rip us off .
I'm not paying a thousand dollars for a Milwaukee 3/8th inpact driver when my 200 buck Makita one has worked it's arse off and I've never had a problem  with it ..7yrs and still on its original 5amp battery

My Ryobis are still going strong on the same 2 and 4 Ah Lion 18v batteries I bought with them 10 years ago.  Although, I am planning on adding a 40v weedwacker and leaf blower to the collection of tools.

My bud Tony is nuts about Ryobi tools..im sure he's got damn near all of their cordless tools 😆
One brand we get here is called Ozito ..it's a cheap brand with a pretty large range ..ive got 3 of their impact drivers and used them to death ..give ya an idea on their prices ..I got a set which was a 18v drill.. driver..charger and a 2.5amp battery..$119nz
Haven't killed any of em and that driver with that little battery gutted the entire interior of a Toyota estima van ..it's a ppl mover to so seats and belts back and front..lots and lots of bolts ..didn't even  flatten the battery 😆
Have killed a skill saw tho

The truth us that a lot of these "different brands" are all made in the same Chinese factories, just with red, blue or green plastic and different stickers.

I remember holding up a branded drill and a B&Q own-brand one, and they were identical in every external detail except fot the colour, the name and the price.

Dirty and used has always been more interesting.  There is a sticker somewhere on my bike which says "i'd rather ride it than clean it".

For hobby use the cheaper tools will be fine.  They won't stand up to professional use 8 hours a day 6 days a week but will do just fine at weekends.
Ozito is OK,  I've got some of their stuff.  I think my mitre saw is Ozito.
My rip saw is ancient.  It's a no-name cheapo I bought 25 years ago in the UK from a mail order tool mob called Screw Fix.  Still going strong though.

Agree with that, these things were made to be used.

As for cordless tools, they may be (likely are) all made in the same factory, but the way they suck you into 'brand loyalty' is to ensure the batteries are brand-specific. :banghead:
Marketing 101.
We need someone to bring out a series of adapters...

And yeah, I've recently got a Ryobi 1+ battery drill. Worked brilliantly for replacing the garage roof tin.
