Scooter suggested that I move over here with my recently started Greenland Snowtractor as this one is definitely polar. And is set in the alternate universe of a Greenland independence.

To summarize what has been done, I will use this little Polish kit of a PzKpw III, where I will only use the tracks and chassis:

As this were only three parts, construction was quite quick here

And now the fun part begins. Designing the Snow Tractor in 3D. So this is a first idea: Cabin and engine in the front, a little outside cargo area in the back. Have to work on this now to get the dimensions right and see if it fits to the chassis.

After the initial idea, the 3D model was enhanced:

- Prepare the backward space for the outside platform
- Add some places where cooling and ventilation for the engine(s) will be added.
- Round the edges of the cabin
- Add a wooden loading platform on the roof (will later be printed separately for easier painting)
- Add the engine compartment

This is how it looks in 3D:

And I could not wait to make a test print with the FDM printer. The final model will be made with the resin printer, but this goes faster to make test prints. So I can see if and how it does fir on the chassis.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

More 3D print use in a build.. like it

A bit more work on the Snow tractor.

In the back, the cargo are is prepared. Some fuel barrels will be added to the side and some smaller platform to access them from the outer side.

Another quick test print. In the final print, the smaller parts like tanks etc will be printed separately.

Wow!  impressed.  Is the inside of the cab solid?

Its hollow, but the windows are still missing. Want to work on the outside first. If possible, I will try to make an interior as well, but I have to see how the printed parts fit to the tank chassis.

Ok, coming along nicely with the cab 3D render/print process.

This will be very cool I suspect 😎 🙂

The cargo deck has now been modeled, I will also put a wooden protection there. Also, some track protection below the cabin has been added.

Of course I had to make another test print. some minor adjustments "inside" had to be made so that it better fits to the chassis.

I am thinking about the color to be used, right now I think of either red or orange, something that can be seen on the icy surface of Greenland.

I can offer this as an example of what orange looks like
