The Wooksta!

If you do consider a B-29, have a rethink on trying rattle cans.  Buy some cheap and nasty silver spray paint from Poundland or B&M and practice on an old model used as a mule.
If and when you feel confident, upgrade to the generic Aluminium from The Range.

I tried hand painting a B-29 many years back and hated the results.  Spraying is the best route for something that size.

Gondor

I may well do when I actually start one of the B-29's or derivatives I have in the stash, just not yet although I could always camouflage an RAF one as some of the real ones did have black undersides.

I made a mistake  :banghead:

I misread the instructions on the detail sets that Lee gifted to me and ordered the wrong version of Fw 190  :banghead:

And of course, my link to Models For Sale didn't work  :banghead:

Managed to get there and resaved the link to their page so it's not all bad. Thankfully the eduard kits are the kind of price I like

I'm not going to throw away/sell the kit I did buy by mistake, it has some nice weapon options so I will build it OOB if I ever get around to it.

What I think is an interesting statement popped into my head earlier so I thought I would repeat it here

"Two wrongs don't make a Wright,

But two Wrights make an Aeroplane"  ;D

I dunno, I've certainly perpetrated worse... ;D

I probably mentioned somewhere that one of my "new" ideas is to build an ASW Stirling, well when browsing the web for inspiration to aid the build I found that the Whitley Gr VII has a different option in the box as well as the ASW one, so that will get built as the option and the radar bits will end up on the Stirling, sorted
Parts for another build are also on their way although a lot of scratch building will probably have to occur with those parts.
I have a Supermarine Swift with an F.1 conversion set so I may have a go at building that in a different operational unit as well. Might confuse the punters a bit.
In other news, A repair to my car was carried out in about ten minutes on Friday just after work. The struts for the hatch/back had failed, thankfully they are easy to replace, once you know how and a colleague at work knew how. He got some of the latest cake I baked in thanks.
My cat, Spot met me when I got home on Friday and decided to stay in until just after midnight, to start with he decided that as I lay on the bed near him I was fair game to be lain on. We both had a nap so it was all good. He came home this morning as well, Very keen to get made a fuss of at times and hopefully will let me sleep tonight for a bit longer than last night. Who knows, he may come home Sunday morning!

Re Swift.  I remember Mike McEvoy building a Pegasus one many years back at the Nationals at Donnington - either '96 or '97 - and he said he was going to do it in 74 Sqn colours, as they were intended to get Swift F2s.  I did a pair of Hawk/Testors kits in their markings, plus an F7.

One of my recent book purchases was the Colour Conundrums Number 4 which has a couple of sections on the Swift and which squadrons were proposed to get them.

So that's the end of another week. I wasn't at work today as it was the company Xmas do. In the seven years, seven months and several days that I have been with them I have not been to a single event of any kind! That might sound a bit harsh, but I have a forty-five-minute commute to work, or home for that matter, and have nothing in common with anyone else there other than we work together, and I am not as interested in having a reheated meal as lunch followed by a pub crawl.
I did receive an Amazon voucher from the company yesterday, it's already spent  ;D

"Mandatory fun" is an oxymoron.  My unit had their Christmas party Wednesday around lunch.  I spent my time in the cube, coming out only for food and drink.

I have one or two wonderful memories of Christmas bashes from the late 60's through to mid 90's before the world became too PC
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hell yes, the Christmas parties at the Railway Technical Centre in the 70s were just FABULOUS! Went on almost all day on the last 'working' day we had before closing down.  ;D  ;)
