Apparently I have the attention span of a goldfish, been around the bowl twice, time for something new.
The Ice Rigger is a longer term project, the Wiesel, is currently in a drying stage after doing the Javelin mount a couple of times.

So a couple of nights ago I re-watched Civil War, which all in all is quite a good movie. Between that and Wombies Stryker build, the Trumpeter Stryker I had in the stash just had to move to the bench.
So the plan is to do a Western Forces Stryker, which given the premis of the film is pretty much stock, with different markings. Some vehicles had a WF painted on them and the Western Forces Flag.

So, Stryker out of the box.... so far

So I figure that given the vagueness of the movie on why's and wherefores on how this all happened, some best guesses on the forces might be needed.
I am thinking that WF troops will be moving fast, given a limited logistical situation. So I am going to add a bit more around fuel and supplies.
Plus if all munitions are not available, or available in quantities, some second line stuff might be in use, taken from National Guard or Second line war stores.
So maybe, the TOW Launcher I removed from Wiesel, might get another life on this as a field modification mount

For markings, the plan is to create a decal of the Western Forces Flag and a WF hand painted on

A bit on this time of year, but done a bit.
Added the field expedient TOW Launcher and some stowage

That is probably about it until it hits the paintshop. Maybe some more stowage

It's interesting how the term 'stowage', when applied to AFVs, seems to mean the exact opposite as it's always bunged on the outside somewhere and almost NOT 'stowed'.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It looks good, but I don't think the TOW would be where you put it. If there's a missile in it, you would have a hard time opening the square hatch, andif the launcher is turned so it can open, it's in the way for the commander's hatch — not to mention it is anyway for the machine gun, and the missile's backblast would destroy any stowage on the rear deck. A more logical place would probably be just in front of the two rear roof hatches, so the gunner can stand in one and the loader in the other? It would have to be higher up there, though, so it will clear the commander's hatch and machine gun — because by the time the missile is above those, its fins will be mostly extended, and you don't want those to hit anything.
... I know all this and more ...

Looking good so far ! Always nice to see the extra details being added.

Enough procrastination... get it done.

Couple of sessions later, we are there. Or as much there as I plan to go

Time to stop procrastination on the Ice Rigger

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
