Ian the Kiwi Herder

Last time I posted here was 2021, since then I've been a little distracted by 'real world' builds. Cracked-open this old Monogram kit about three weeks ago and other than the 'Jaguar style' ECM bar on the fin and the loadout from an unsuspecting Rafale and F-16, it is completely OOB. Decals are from a long out of production Zotz sheet (also for F-16's) whilst the teeth are from an even older Microscale F-5E sheet. Not too much else to say, nice relaxing & stress free build and I thoroughly enjoyed... a little sad when it came to an end TBH.

As ever CCQ's welcome. Cheers from NZ.

Ian.

Very nice, a probable choice of operator as well

And welcome back.

That looks magnificent, & welcome back!

Thailand!
There's never too many F-20 models
I thought that it would be nice if the shark's mouth could be over the landing gear door too ... but then that decal wouldn't work.

Very nice Ian, and welcome back.

The F-16 drop tank gives it a beefier look.
Whatever.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

With that paint scheme, it even looks like a shark. Well done!
Whoever said sharks can't fly was obviously mistaken.  ;D
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Godd to see you Ian.  Nice neat build in a smart scheme and good choice of operator.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The Kiwi Herder still lives, HOOOOORAAAAY!

Great to see you back Ian, and your modelling is still exceptional.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

You're way too kind Mr. S, and so good that you aren't 'un-alive' either... well done that man !

Thank you everyone, not sure when the next 'What If' might happen, but it may well be another old Monogram 1:48 that isn't getting any younger. Nice to see so many familiar names around still. Manly hugs from New Zealand.
