I needed some big wheels, unfortunately the tires made of rubber and the rims are not very usefull , but very much parts are useable for something better than a russian rocket truck ...
A lot of axles, profiles and transmission parts.

Came cheap from second hand like most of my kits .
It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep .
Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

Not a bad kit.
Post-WW2, which I hadn't realized, but useful for various other things.
I used the rims for my Rail Jeep.
The launcher can be put onto the ICM Studebaker and be correct for Wartime.
And the chassis is basically the same as the GMC, so that's potentially useful as well.

Went to my local model club's Christmas meeting and Gift Exchange today.
Got the following during the exchange: A TAMIYA 1/35 scale WWII Japanese tank kit. Still sealed! And the person who originally wrapped the kit and brought it in for the exchange also attached with the kit a separate $25 gift card to the hobby store where our meetings take place. Woohoo!  ;D
But I'm really not interested in the kit, so it'll be put in the club's model auction next year.
I did use the $25 gift card to pick up a bottle of Tamiya paint, 2 bottles of Vallejo Light Red paint, and 2 bottles of gap filling super glue.
Also at the club meeting was one member who was getting rid of some of his model kits..........for free!  :o  So I picked up the Revell Sea Shadow kit he was getting rid of. The box was in bad shape, but everything inside was still bagged. I already built one of these kits a few years ago. But I really don't mind having a second.
Club members also got gift certificates from the club Treasurer. When we pay our club dues at the beginning of the year, we get them back in the form of a gift certificate to a different hobby store. So I used my certificate to pick up another can of Tamiya primer plus a package of assorted sheet styrene.
On the way back home, went to another hobby store and picked up 2 bottles of white paint. I was running low and needed more.
And a modeling friend that I've been going to contests and model club meetings for a long time gave me a ship jig from Lazy Dog Hobby Studios and also a 8 piece stencil set which can be used for making circles, squares, curves, and other shapes.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

That meeting did sound like a very fun event 😊
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Strangely I got the original Italeri version of that kit Noizer mate last week 👌
Your sounds exactly like mine with the rubber tyres
.wouldn't be surprised if yours is just a rerelease of mine and there's nothing wrong with that  ;D

I think there was a lot of cross-use of moulds with Italeri/Zvezda. Not sure how that's going in the current climate, though...

The meeting was even more fun when members brought in treats to share like cookies, candy, and such. Especially my modeling friend who I've been going to club meetings and contests with. Every year for the Christmas model club meeting, he bakes and brings in a cheesecake............infused with liquor.  :o  Each year is a different type of cheesecake infused with a different type of liquor.
Today's cheesecake was a blueberry cheesecake infused with Rum, Brandy, and Vodka.  :o  I kid you not! That's what he told me.
Thankfully, I managed to keep myself sober by having just 1 slice.  ;D
It wasn't a large cheesecake. Just a standard 12" inch or so round one.

12" away from hammered 😆 🤣
I do love a good cheese cake ..blueberry or logan berry ..passion fruit ..yummy  ;D
This one tho ..yeah abit much of alcohol list 😂
I do wish we'd have meets like that here but with our community being so small and spread apart this sort of thing will never happen.
I could never see a bloke here just giving away a pile of his models for nothing ...bloody good on the chap at your meeting who did tho...most generous of him 👏 👍

Just won a auction for a 1/32 Revell F4U-1D Corsair.
Also a set of 1/35 Tamiya M2 Bradley Early Type Band Tracks and a set of 1/35 Takom Panther Late Type Link and Length Tracks.
Those will come in very useful for a RFM Panther I scored for super cheap as it had no tracks ...it does now  ;D

Not a kit I was aware of at all. Interesting to see the Fine Moulds label on the box alongside the Tamiya one.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Wouldn't mind one, myself, but "Out of Stock" at BNA & the listed price is $146+coins.

Quote from: zenrat on December 11, 2024, 03:19:10 AMBirthday was just a number.  Nothing divisible by ten.  I got some good gifts but no models.

I did get a package from Hasslefree Miniatures in the UK today.
It contained a 28mm white metal Armed Scooby Gang

"Hippo Birdie", as they say... ;)

Interesting, I had heard that Hasslefree was out of business?

AIUI Hasslefree had/have health issues which interfered/interfere with the business.

Their 28mm figures are close enough to 1/48 for my purposes and I have a plan involving the Scoobs, the trailer, and a GAZ Tiger.
