Cool.
I have the 1/72nd Huma Dornier Wal kit sitting in the stash with the eventual intent of doing it as a Miskatonic expedition aircraft.

The danish naval air service (Marinens Flyvevæsen) used a Dornier DO J/III Wal on Greenland 1938-1940.

Hi,
I finished up my build today.  Unfortunately, while playing around with trying to weather it I fear I may have gone a bit over board yesterday andwhile trying to clean it up a little some of the decals began to "wear" a little.  But I guess that may not be too bad a thing since it might make the decals match with the dirty fuselage and wings a little better.  Anyway, here are three images.  I messed around a little with some of the image settings just to see whether I could fade out the shadows a little, since I was thinking that maybe my light was might be too bright for the deep Antarctic.

Regards

Pat

PS.  After some feedback earlier I realize that the little squichy amoeba monster guy was probably too small based on the descriptions from the book, but I didn't have time to try and 3D print a larger one, since I have to do somemaintenance on my printer.  So for now I guess I'lljust assume that it is a juvenile Shoggoth instead of a fully grown one.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Yes, very approprate. juvenile Shoggoth are notoriously curious, would be the first to go and check the new guests.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hi,
Hereare a couple extra images of justthe airplane model that I took without my main light on, so that the shadows wouldn't be so severe.

I think the weathering looks great! The "ice sheet" is a pretty clever idea as well.
