That sounds very much like car designers who never work on cars.  :banghead:
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

'Kit's First Rule of Car Design' says all the major decisions about where various bits go in a car are taken by people who are SO far up the corporate tree they've forgotten how to work on cars, if they ever did.

That's why I have to take the whole front bumper off my Signum, a 45 min job, just to change the front indicator bulb.  :banghead:

Having said that, the only real designer I've met, Wayne Cherry, actually helped build most if his Vauxhall concept cars, but he was an exception.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Having hell's own job PSRing the 588. :(

The Presto putty I got from ebay France doesn't seem to be the same stuff as Thomas got me from Germany a while back, it's not as dense, dries a lot faster, but shrinks more too. I need LOTS more layers of it to build up the depth of putty I need over the landing gear hatches etc.

Not to mention the lack of decent primer as well, it's becoming a PITA when I want to get some PAINT on it!

Oh mate a book could be written on the nightmares mechanics or just DIYers have fixing cars but I'm at least happy to say I've had a pleasure changing the head lights on a mates 745I BMW...easiest bumper I've ever removed 😀
He wanted the Halo rings in his lights and his didn't have em ..it does how..well did until the trans took a dump with 2 of its gears and when he got quoted $12k for a full rebuild he sold it to a mate.
He then brought a twin turbo V6 M5 BMW     ;D
He is a right wally

There are also the kit designers that do everything in CAD - then don't actually assemble the end result to see whether it all fits together... actually, they don't even check the CAD to see whether there are any conflicts or where some parts impede other parts...  :banghead:  :banghead:

I'm pretty certain we've all been there Rick ..I know I have  :banghead:
I'm 100% sure that will happen again too.

After umpteen zillion PSR/primer sessions the 588's gone about as far as it can go. I've had about enough of the PSRing on those ruddy engine nacelles, they're such a weird shape and my hands aren't that shape, neither are my sanding sticks etc. so that's it.

Here's the pre-colour upper side view, looking like a slim-line Ju 488 with MONSTER engines, which is just about what it is of course.

And here's the underside, complete with crazy landing gear legs. They're not too far off the same length now, but a tad twisted. I'm not sure I've enough effort left in me to fully straighten them so I'll see how they look with the wheels on first.

I've got to build some extensions for the bomb bay doors, insert the two bombs, add the under-nose turret, props and gear doors and the various guns. They're a mix of resin and metal weapons of different sizes as it was a case of getting what was available. But it's a late WWII Luftwaffe bomber, JUST what it would have been like in the RW.

Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Didn't I give a pair of BFO bombs from several Blohm und Voss things?  You should have at least a pair.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yes, you did. The bombs in the kit are almost the same. I'll see which fit best.

Love it Kit 😀 😍
This build is pushing me more and more towards my weird one and yep it's a Junkers too ..but starting with a 88 P1 ...it won't be a P1 tho..no 75mm cannon on this..felt very strange typing that 🤔 😀
