From Wikipedia: "The Großkampfwagen or "K-Wagen" (short for G.K.-Wagen) was a German super-heavy tank, two prototypes of which were almost completed by the end of World War I. " It was tank of 13meters lang (42ft 8in and had a crew of 27 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Two prototypes were under construction at the end of the war.

During my research on German tanks I came across the K-wagen, a giant tank project from WW1. There is a 1/35 kit of this tank made by Kora but it is EUR 280.00!!!  :-\  :-\  :-\  :-\  :-\
As this tank is mainly straight lines, I decided that I will be scratch building my model of this one. It should be possible......
Which me luck  ;D  ;D

First shell hole it takes on an angle, it'd probably get stuck.  Even if they learned to have hull-length tracks from their captured British armor, they should have learned that fatter isn't always better.

Ohhhhh this is going to be excellent  ;D  ;D  ;D

Ive loved how even as far back as WW1 the Germans where thinking of huge arse stupid projects which were actually built and then exciting modellers enough into building them as models

Tom this will be a pretty simple build  hull wise ....what are you doing to use for the tracks and running gear ?

Scooter mate from the things ive read about this thing it would have done pretty well when crossing thru shell holes and very large trench net works ..its tracks are pretty wide and unlike the A7V this had ground clearance ,so its chances in soft mud were pretty good ...now every thing else which would make it bad is a pretty big list  ;D
Like everything to big in those days ,,under powered ..under armoured ...maneuverability would have been terrible for such a long vehicle especially on very soft ground..not real range of any use and the worse part ...its a massive ,slow moving target for artillery and aircraft ,,,,but its stupidity is what makes this thing cool

Best of luck  ;)  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Some pictures of the real K-Wagen under construction:

And a heavily doctored picture of the finished machine. Which is impossible as it was never finished.....

And the first build in progress pics:

The basic structure stands. Built from styrene sheet. This was relatively easy as so far everything is straight. I salvaged an old pnazer IV to donate tracks and running wheels and have a lead on another partly built panzer IV to add extra wheels and add length to the tracks. Yes, I know that the tracks are WW2 and not really WW1, but this was the only affordable option I could find.

Very nice hacking of the white sheets mate 👌
Your choice of the Panzer IV is perfectly fine ...your not going to see that much of em anyway and as for the tracks..im just wondering if there going to wide enough as P4 tracks ain't that wide ..but then again ..this is a real world wiff 😆
Either way Tom this is epic and I'm lovin it  ;D
Talking of Panzer IV..im wondering how many I've got now and what versions of it 🤔 🤣

The real tracks would, most likely have been similar to those of the British Mk.IV or the A7V (which appear to be not massively dissimilar to Mk.IV tracks);

Whatever in being built with a lot of plastic card.. is always interesting

Good progress there, carry on!

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about what tracks you use - cheap is good, and you can always add loads of mud to disguise them a bit.

The good thing with this vehicle is most of the tracks won't be seen so that's a
Just thought of one fun thing Tom is going to have ..the thousands of rivets 😆 🤣
