You could always use a UH-60 cockpit, cut it in half and add a seat's worth of space between the pilots.  Frame the edges of the kit's "glasss" and add a sheet of clear to fill the gap.  I'm sure you could bodge up wider instrument panels.  :)

Quote from: Old Wombat on February 12, 2025, 07:58:48 AMIt looks like a CH-53 did the wild thing with a UH-60 & the resulting offspring was left to starve to death in a desert, then re-animated.

Haha. Yes.

Quote from: Gondor on February 11, 2025, 01:47:56 PMAre there any scaled drawings of this?

Gondor

Not scale drawings, but there are GA diagrams of the civil and military versions in Project Cancelled. Those and the flying crane variant are also in Westland Aircraft and Rotorcraft, although the images are tiny and will be a bit difficult to scale.

Secret Projects has a sectional diagram and some contour drawings of the civil version that might help, plus there's a decent resolution GA.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Your welcome guys.  It'd make an impressive model, fuselage would be over a foot long in 1/72.

I think it looks better with its clothes on.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

PR19_Kit

Interestingly the 'clothed' pic shows it with the 6 blade rotor too, thus proving it DID have one at some time.

Maybe it didn't fly in that form, but this is WhiffWorld of course.....................  ;)

IIRC the big cylinders either side of the fuselage are fuel tanks, but how about a version with MUCH larger versions of a Sea King's wheels/flotation pods too? 1/48 Sea King pods on a 1/72 Westminster?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Over a foot long ???  :o  :o
In 72nd scale???   :o
Well I'm definitely not going to build this in 35th 😳
It's be bloody massive..even in 48th she's gonna be a big girl too ...but doable  ;)
