While waiting for the Klear coat over some of the markings on the Zero to dry I put the Azur-Fromm DB-7 back on the bench and started the bit I'd been dreading, the undercarriage.

Now each "leg" consists of 7 individual parts. They look scale size to me and some are very delicate. However the quality of engineering/tooling are such that providing you take your time they go together quite easily. Some alignment pins etc, which all actually do their job properly, help but at the end it's just the quality of the tooling.

I'd put this kit near the top of the "Limited Run" ladder and I've actually decided how I'm going to finish it

Yeah, right...................  :-\

Hate to tell you, Kit, but iced tea is a British invention - well, an ex-pat/imperial invention.

Developed in the hotter parts of the Empire (probably India,  but possibly Africa, or somewhere equally tropical) where it was too sweltering to drink hot tea during the day but, being British, there could be no other beverage.

So, make a big pot of tea (loose leaf), let it cool down, put it in a (usually) glass/crystal jug with ice & Bob's yer muvva's bruvva, a civilised beverage for inhospitable climes.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

Thanks for that, I take very little notice of anything to do with tea.

I drank my last cup of tea at breakfast time on September 9th 1965, the day I got married (the first time....) and left home. I'm a died-in-the-wool coffee drinker myself.

You have to make the tea hot before you make it cold or the tea will not infuse the water with its flavour.

Quote from: Nick on February 21, 2025, 03:39:15 AMI had to look it up...

Make a large jug of tea with 4 teabags.
Add 2 large spoons of sugar and some sliced lemons.
Remove the teabags and lemon slices when it is cool to the touch.
Keep it in the fridge and serve in a tall glass over ice cubes.
Add fresh lemon slices for added flavour.

That sounds like a nice recipe to make, although I have a load of Lipton's Lemon tea left over from being ill during COVID-19. It should still be good as it's granules.

Anyway  ;)  Progress on both current projects. The Zero has it's transfers apart from a couple of tiny stencils that are meant to go on the prop' hub, they went in the bin   The DB-7 can start getting its interior painted next week.

I've also picked out the next 2 for the bench. The Azur-Fromm Battle which will be real world in memory of those brave crew who flew it into action 85 years ago. And the ICM Fw 189C/V6 which will be an in-service example. They, or one of them anyway won't hit the bench until the Zero is finished as I'm trying to stay in control  ;D

I wish you a better result than mine...

Well the Zero is very nearly there   should be this week.  I've started to paint the innards of the DB-7, so progress is being made.

Looking good there.

Shouldn't it be standing on a pack of Japanese noodles instead of that smelly French cheese?  ;)

Cheers mate.

That "smelly French cheese" as you call it comes in the ideal size container for holding single engined 1/72 types whilst you are building them

Anyway once I've tidied the bench up a bit, put the Zero specific paints away, and the spare bits & bobs and transfers in their appropriate boxes/drawers I can put another kit on the bench. Probably the Battle.
