Just an update from the thread hijack of Zenrat's T-34 as he was doing a Stolly as part of it, where I mentioned I was doing the 1/35 version.

Dutifully bought a "grail kit" of the Accurate Armour Stalwart when they announced they were shutting down... so took one for the team so Airfix could announce the injection jobby 2 months later :banghead:

Pretty much it..some touchups, a bit of dust, sort out some decal silvering and wash top ups of some last minute assemblies maybe, the camera is a full on nag for bits that are not done, which you thought were done on the bench
Plus I forgot to fit the winch, so back to do that too. Ammo set is to at least put something in the cargo area at the moment.

As a kit, I liked it as these do challenge a bit. Still if Airfix can replicate this, they will have nailed it.
So an AVRE Trailer and the 3.7Inch AA gun still to go in my AA kit stash.

Agreed with Rick on that Bri 👍 👏

Always wanted a Stolly but there's no way it's a OTB bold and even now I still can't figure out what I'd do with it .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Excellent stuff Buzzy, I got one of those kits too, and looking at yours gives me ideas of getting on with it.

Brings back very cramped memories being jammed under those hefty suspension arms trying to attach miniscule strain gauges. Yeuk!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

BFO gun on the back?  Katyusha?  Wrecker?  Snowplough?  Pimp it?

When I get my first 1/35 Airfix i'm going civilian with RHD, doors, and a camper body.

Should I acquire one of these, I think a small diorama with a test engineer's legs sticking out from below the machine is a possibility!

Hehehe, I expect the Airfix one will be cheaper, and maybe easier to build.

Don't think it comes with a swear word sound chip though.............  ;D

Kinda thinking maybe a SPG but the Stolly is just wrong I'm so many ways ..the deck alone is like 6ft of the ground...it would be extremely unstable as it's not very wide and would be very top heavy
I could do a good wrecker version tho 🤔.

Fred I do like the civiy idea ...you'd have redesign the entire inside of the cab tho..it has a central driving position so you'd have to also redesign the steering system 😉
